THE PILGRIMS GUIDE FRIDAY DECEMBER 19, 2025 WORSHIPPING GOD ABOVE YOUR TROUBLES A WORD FROM THE WORD: "Then someone told David, saying, 'Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom.' And David said, 'O LORD, I pray, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness!' Now it happened when David had come to the top of the mountain, where he worshiped God—there was Hushai the Archite coming to meet him with his robe torn and dust on his head. David said to him, 'If you go on with me, then you will become a burden to me. But if you return to the city, and say to Absalom, I will be your servant, O king; as I was your father’s servant previously, so I will now also be your servant,’ then you may defeat the counsel of Ahithophel for me. And do you not have Zadok and Abiathar the priests with you there? Therefore it will be that whatever you hear from the king’s house, you shall tell to Zadok and Abiathar the priests. Indeed they have there with them their two sons, Ahimaaz, Zadok’s son, and Jonathan, Abiathar’s son; and by them you shall send me everything you hear.' So Hushai, David’s friend, went into the city. And Absalom came into Jerusalem." 2 Samuel 15:31-37 NKJV. We noticed that the first thing David, the king did when he was informed of Ahitophel's conspiracy was to worship God. King David, as a man after God's heart had practiced and experienced it severally, and so, in a dire situation like he found himself, he overlooked, underrated and disregarded his troubles and problems, and devoted his time to the worship of God in His presence. He knew that the counsel of Ahitophel was loaded, and could be detrimental to him overcoming the rebellion of Absalom and coming back as the king of Israel, and so, something must be done, and that is WORSHIP. And this was after he had prayed and asked God to turn the wisdom of Ahitophel into foolishness. Climbing the mountain is akin to trodding on his troubles and problems; you must trample on your difficulties and challenges and go ahead and worship God. God will give you victory over those who oppose you for no just cause and frustrate their ungodly desires against you. God is jealous of you like He is of King David, and would not allow any illegitimate burden to overwhelm you. He inspired David to persuade Hushai to go and align himself with Absalom in order to gain his secrets and counter the counsels of Ahitophel. May God avail you with destiny helpers course in victory. The wisdom of Ahitophels of your world is confounded, may God send you destiny helpers who would have the secrets of your enemies on their fingertips. Ahitophels may multiply themselves, but if you sail on the wings of the unseen power of worship, you will definitely finish your course in victory. Just keep worshipping God, and you will be amazed on how its unseen power will continually avail you all round victories.
