*šŸ•Š DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 353*
* DATE:19TH DECEMBER, 2025*
*TOPIC: WHEN SIN WEAKENS THE BATTLE*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: JOSHUA 7:11 —(NKJV)*
*ā€œISRAEL HAS SINNED… THEREFORE THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL COULD NOT STAND BEFORE THEIR ENEMIES.ā€*
*DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE*

Every time the Israelites went to war under God’s instruction, He granted them victory over their enemies. However, during the time of Joshua, something changed. After a great victory at Jericho, Israel suffered a humiliating defeat at Ai. The reason was not lack of strategy or numbers, but sin in the camp. Achan took devoted things that God had forbidden, and this single act of disobedience weakened the entire nation. When Joshua inquired of the Lord, God revealed that sin was the reason for their defeat.

Sin makes us vulnerable to our enemies. No matter how hard we fight the battles of life, we will still experience defeat if we continue to live in secret sin. The enemy gains advantage not because he is stronger, but because sin gives him legal ground. Apostle Paul teaches that we become slaves to whoever we obey—whether to sin leading to death or obedience leading to righteousness. When Israel went to battle with unrepented sin, they lost power and authority, and the enemy triumphed over them.

We also see this truth clearly in the life of Samson. Though chosen and empowered by God, Samson lived in perpetual sin and repeatedly broke his consecration. He became so comfortable with grace that he assumed his strength would always be present. Sadly, the Bible records that he did not know that the Lord had departed from him. That was the moment his enemies captured him. Though God later showed him mercy and restored his strength, Samson died with the enemies he was meant to defeat.

Child of God, it is time to examine your life honestly. Ask yourself if there is any secret sin that has given the enemy a foothold—something that has weakened your prayer life, authority, and spiritual strength. Victory in life’s battles is sustained by purity and holiness. Sin weakens the believer and makes him subject to the devil, but repentance restores power and authority.

*Prayer*

Father, search my heart and reveal anything in me that is not pleasing to You. I repent of every secret sin and ask for Your cleansing by the blood of Jesus. Restore my strength, authority, and victory. Help me to walk in purity and holiness, that I may overcome every battle of life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
