Rest in His Work, Not Ours

What He has called us to do is His work, not ours.
Jesus said, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent” (John 6:29).

Too often we grow weary because we try to carry the weight ourselves—laboring to prove, striving to earn, pushing to accomplish. But Christ calls us out of that burden: “Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).

The rest He offers is not escape from obedience—it is freedom from self-effort. We cease from our own works, and His Spirit moves through us. Like branches on the vine, we bear fruit not by straining, but by abiding.

Rest is not quitting His work—it is letting His work flow through us.
Rest is not weakness—it is strength found in surrender.
Rest is not silence—it is power rooted in trust.

So today, let us lay down the heavy yoke of striving, and take up the easy yoke of Christ. His burden is light, His work is sure, and His rest is eternal.
