Good morning, brethren.

1. Our morning prayer focuses on ".Celebrating God’s unchanging faithfulness."

2. Are you godly and contented?

3. Do you know what will happen when truth confronts power?

4. Do you invest wisely?

To know more, read the message below.

1. Morning Prayer

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever. ⏤ Hebrews 13:8

God’s faithfulness is the foundation of our confidence. ⏤ Charles Spurgeon

We would sing of Your mercies, O Lord. We would make known Your faithfulness. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. You never change. Your word is settled forever. Not a jot or a tittle of it can ever fail. The mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed—but Your kindness shall not depart from us, nor the covenant of Your peace be removed forever.

O Lord God Almighty, who is a strong Lord like unto You! Your faithfulness surrounds You. You rule the raging of the sea. When the waves thereof arise—You still them. The heavens are Yours, the earth also is Yours; as for the world with the fullness thereof—You have founded it. You have a mighty arm; strong is Your hand, and high is Your right hand. Justice and judgment are the foundation of Your throne; mercy and truth shall go before You.

We thank You, O God, that on this holy day we can rest so confidently on Your eternal faithfulness. May the gospel wherever preached today, reveal to needy hearts Your love and truth. May Your servants sent forth with the messages of Your love be faithful in representing You. Let a blessing rest on our pastor as he preaches Your word and leads us in Your worship. May he be full of the Holy Spirit. May he come from Your very presence, and may the light shine in his face as it shone on the face of Moses when he had been with You for forty days in the mount. Prepare us and all Your people for the worship of the sanctuary. Bless all Sunday schools and all meetings of whatever kind held today for Your worship. May this be a day full of Jesus and of power. And may the grace of Jesus be upon us all forever. Amen.

*WHEN TRUTH CONFRONTS POWER*

*TEXT:* JOHN 11:47–57

47.Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles.
48.If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.
49.And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,
50.Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.
51.And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;
52.And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.
53.Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death.
54.Jesus therefore walked no more openly among the Jews; but went thence unto a country near to the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim, and there continued with his disciples.
55.And the Jews' passover was nigh at hand: and many went out of the country up to Jerusalem before the passover, to purify themselves.
56.Then sought they for Jesus, and spake among themselves, as they stood in the temple, What think ye, that he will not come to the feast?
57.Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a commandment, that, if any man knew where he were, he should shew it, that they might take him.

*TIMELESS TRUTH:*
_"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose"_(Romans 8:28).

*INTRODUCTION*

After Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, His enemies could no longer deny His power — yet instead of believing, they plotted to destroy Him. The religious leaders feared losing control, reputation and influence. In their attempt to protect their position, they fulfilled God’s greater purpose: the death of Christ for the salvation of the world. This passage reveals how the human heart can resist divine truth, how fear of losing control leads to compromise and how God sovereignly works even through human opposition.
Though the religious leaders plotted against Jesus, their schemes only advanced God’s salvation plan. Likewise, no opposition can hinder God’s purpose for your life when you walk in obedience, integrity, and faith. What men mean for evil, God can turn for good (Genesis 50:20). From this passage today we learn that: Truth must be embraced, not resisted and compromise must be rejected, even when convenient, while providence must be trusted, even when misunderstood. God’s purposes always prevail — even through human opposition.

*1. The Conflict of Truth*

The miracles of Jesus created undeniable evidence of His divine identity, yet the chief priests and Pharisees were more concerned about political consequences than spiritual truth. They said, “If we let Him alone, everyone will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and take away our place and nation.” Like the leaders, people today often resist truth when it threatens their comfort, control, or traditions. True faith requires humility to accept God’s truth, even when it challenges personal agendas or long-held beliefs.

*Question:*

What truths from God’s Word am I resisting because they confront my comfort or control? *(John 8:32)*.

*2. The Counsel of Compromise*

Caiaphas, the high priest, proposed a seemingly logical but deeply sinful solution: that one man (Jesus) should die for the nation. Ironically, his words carried a prophetic truth — Jesus would die for the salvation of many — yet his intent was political, not spiritual. Caiaphas used religion to justify murder. Compromise often begins when we choose what seems practical over what is right. Even religious people can rationalize sin for convenience or self-preservation. God calls believers to stand for truth, even when obedience is costly.

*Question:*

Am I choosing convenience over conviction in any area of my walk with God? *(Matthew 16:26)*.

*3. The Control of Providence.*

Though human leaders plotted Jesus’ death, they unknowingly fulfilled God’s redemptive plan. Jesus withdrew temporarily, not out of fear, but because His time had not yet come. Even in the face of evil, God’s purposes moved forward perfectly. No human scheme can thwart God’s divine plan. Even when the world seems chaotic or unjust, believers can rest in the assurance that God’s will prevails. What looks like loss in the moment may be part of a larger victory in His providence.

*Question:*

Do I trust God’s control when events around me seem unfair or out of order? *(Roman 8:28)*

*Prayer Points*

1 “Lord, give me a humble heart that receives Your truth, even when it challenges my pride or comfort.”
2.“Father, keep me from compromising my faith for convenience. Help me to stand for righteousness with courage.”
3.“Lord, when I can’t see what You’re doing, help me to trust that You’re still working all things for my good and Your glory.”
4.“Father, give me boldness to live out my faith publicly, even when the world rejects or resists Your truth.” (Acts 4:29).

*HYMN:* Blessed Assurance

*BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* ZEHARIAH 10-14.

Buy the truth and sell it not. Your eternity and holiness is not for sale.

Bible Reading: Matthew 6:19-21

Don’t store up treasures here on earth . … Store your treasures in heaven. Matthew 6: 19-20

AS HIGH SCHOOL juniors, Steve and Nolan took jobs bagging groceries in the same store. Steve wanted to make wads of money so he could buy a car and enjoy a great social life. Nolan’s goal was to have enough money for school expenses and a few social activities, but staying faithful at church and getting ready for college were more important to him than his job.

By the end of his senior year, Steve drove one of the nicest cars at school, and he could afford to go out with friends two or three nights a week. But in the process of grabbing hold of his goal, Steve’s church life and school life slid to the bottom of his priorities. By fall, Steve lacked both the grades and the savings to start college, and his busy social schedule had pushed all church activities out of his life.

Nolan also reached his goal by graduation. He hadn’t earned nearly as much money as Steve, but he finished high school with a 3.5 GPA and won a scholarship for college. He had been a leader in his youth group and seen several of his friends trust Christ through the group. Because of his staunch dedication to the youth group, his church awarded him with an oldish but dependable used car. They also promised prayer and financial support for college.

Jesus’ warning about storing up wealth on this earth hits Steve’s and Nolan’s situations-and yours-head on. It’s simple economics. Where can you get the best return on your investment of time and energy? You can sell out for ajob that fills your pockets with the bucks to buy all the things you want -CDs, clothes, cars, video games, computer equipment, and more.

But ponder this: Where will all that stuff be a mere year from now? The clothes will be out of style, the electronics obsolete, and the car needing a fix. And in just a few more years, it will all be dust. If stuff is all you can show for your efforts, you won’t have much to show.

You have the chance to make a wiser choice-to invest your time and effort in things that will last beyond the next couple of years. And people are the things that ensure the highest return. The treasures Jesus said you could store up in heaven have a vital connection with loving people in a way that results in them trusting Christ and growing as his disciples. Those are treasures that will never lose their value or become obsolete. And that’s an investment opportunity too good to pass up.

REFLECT: Where are you investing your life right now? What are you doing that will last forever?

PRAY: Lord, help me to invest my life wisely in things that matter.
