1. Morning Prayer
The steps of a Goodness Osondu man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. ⏤ Psalm 37:23
God’s guidance is clearest when our trust in Him is steadfast. ⏤ Elisabeth Elliot
Graciously come to us this morning, O God, and bless us. We deserve no favor at Your hand—but You are a God of mercy. Out of the depths, we have cried unto You. Lord, hear our cry, and let Your ear be attentive to the voice of our supplication. If You should mark iniquities against us—we could not stand before You, for we have sinned in manifold ways. But there is forgiveness with You—that You may be feared. We wait for Your mercy, for with You there is redemption.
You have a purpose for each one of our lives today, something You would have us to do. May You make it plain to each of us as we go out, and go through the hours, what it is You have in Your plan for us. We would do Your will and not our own all the day. Show us what You will have us to do. Teach us to do Your commandments. Let us not follow the foolish counsels and devices of our own hearts. Let us not lean unto our own understanding. Incline our hearts to follow You, and to walk in the way of Your commandments. So may we please You and glorify Your name.
We desire to be blessings in the world, and we ask You for grace to show to all who see us, Your beauty in our own lives. Fill us with Your Spirit and then Your life shall shine in us. May the joy of Jesus be in our hearts. Help us to be comforters to those who are in sorrow. May we be enabled to help others with the burdens that are too heavy for them. Teach us how to sympathize with those who are suffering. Help us to be winners of souls. Bless our home, and keep us while absent one from the other, bringing us all together in the evening. And may the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with us. Amen.

2. MORNING TEA. THE WORD FOR TODAY
TUESDAY DECEMBER 23, 2025.
"BROKENNESS"
‘Not My will, but Yours be done.’ Luke 22:42 NIV
IF YOUR goal is to be used by God, don’t be surprised when He permits seasons of adversity and brokenness. Jesus experienced it, and He said, ‘A servant is not greater than his master’ (John 15:20 NKJV). One Bible teacher points out: ‘God’s intent isn’t to hurt us, but to expand our capacity to carry His love to a world in need of compassion…Sorrow clarifies our thinking. In the school of Christ, brokenness is a good thing. It’s impossible to become intimate with God unless we’re broken of independence, pride and our insistence that our way is better than God’s. Brokenness is the last stop before we finally confess, ‘‘I can’t; God can.’’ It’s Paul confessing, ‘‘What a wretched man I am. Who will rescue me from this body of death?’’ (Romans 7:24 NIV). It’s the Prodigal fighting with the pigs over food (Luke 15:11-32). It’s Joseph, still in prison, forgotten by the cupbearer (Genesis 40:23). It’s Jonah in the whale’s belly confessing the consequences of running from God (Jonah 2:1-9). It’s Peter weeping bitterly outside Jesus’ trial (Luke 22:62). It’s Jesus abandoning everything to God, praying, ‘‘Father…not My will, but Yours be done’’ (Luke 22:42 NIV)…God in His ruthless, loving pursuit will break us of pride, sin, folly and independence (Matthew 21:44). Like Jesus serving bread at the Last Supper, God takes us, breaks us, blesses us and uses us.’ Are you going through a season of brokenness? Be encouraged; in God’s kingdom brokenness is the path to blessing. Watchman Nee put it this way: ‘To have God do His own work through us, even once, is better than a lifetime of human striving.’

3. ```DAILY ANNA - (A DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE FOR ADULTS)
TUESDAY 23RD DECEMBER, 2025```
*MISPLACED PRIORITY* 🫵🏽🏽🏽🏽
```TEXT:MARK 9:30-37```
```KEY VERSE:``` _*"For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day. But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him" (MARK 9:31, 32).*_
*Many of Christ's teachings were given in response to questions His disciples and others asked. It is proper and expected that people should ask for clarification when they do not fully understand an instruction or information they receive. However, in today's passage, the disciples of Christ were afraid to ask Jesus about a crucial matter they did not understand.*
*Jesus has been talking about His death and resurrection. However, the disciples could not connect with the idea of the Messiah dying. They assumed Christ's Messiahship was to deliver their nation from Roman domination and that they, the disciples, would occupy leading positions in the kingdom He would set up. So, when Jesus spoke about His betrayal, crucifixion, death, and resurrection, they did not understand and were afraid to ask Him. The question is, why were they afraid to ask? Could it be that they feared Jesus would rebuke them for their ignorance or that they would get an answer they would not like? Instead of asking Christ to explain more profound things about the Kingdom, they debated who would be the greatest in the coming Kingdom.*
*The disciples were just like most people today in their lust for pre-eminence. Despite their shallow understanding of kingdom principles and the imminence of Christ's passion, the disciples were busy arguing about rank and position among themselves. The desire to be great and control others is a common human trait. Jesus sees our hearts and knows our secret ambition and lust for position. To cure this monster of unbridled lust for power, Jesus draws our attention to a little child to illustrate humility, meekness and self-effacement. Children just serve and run errands with no ambitions to acquire power or prominence. We need to seek the right knowledge and understanding to practise what is most important in the Kingdom.*

*DISTRACTED BY THE LOVE OF THE WORLD*
*TEXT:* MARK 9:30-37.
30 And they departed thence, and passed through Galilee; and he would not that any man should know it.
31 For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day.
32 But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him.
33 And he came to Capernaum: and being in the house he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among yourselves by the way?
34 But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest.
35 And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.
36 And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said unto them,
37 Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me
*Timeless Truth:*_"He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful"_ (Matthew 13:22).
*INTRODUCTION*
One of the greatest hindrances that makes the Word of God to be unfruitful in the life of a person is the love and the care for the things of this life. Jesus made this clear in Matthew 13:22. Regardless of the source of the Word of God and the messenger of God, when the heart is encumbered with the desire for position, popularity, power and earthly prosperity ambition, the Word of God spoken or the revealed will of God will not profit. The text shows how the disciples of Jesus missed a great revelation that would determine their future and life ministry. Though it was spoken by Jesus Himself, they missed the import.
*1. Revelation of Scripture Rejected*
a. Moses gave the children of Israel the commandment on how to mentor children. *"And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up"* (Deuteronomy 6:7). Jesus faithfully practiced this while mentoring His disciples. While He was on transit through Galilee, He taught His disciples important teachings of the kingdom. *"For he taught his disciples, and said unto them"*. Effective mentorship and discipleship involve using every means and every opportunity to teach the new converts, disciples and followers the precious words of the kingdom of God.
b. What was this important message? It was a great revelation which would have been totally strange and unbelievable were it not that it came from the mouth of Jesus Himself. *"The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day"*. Obviously, they had partial understanding of the Scriptures that the Messiah would be a super power that would be invincible to all including the gates of hell. Jesus had also demonstrated that He was a great power of God. How could Jesus have said they would kill Him? He must be referring to someone else. *"But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him"*. They had the liberty of asking since from experience Jesus took delight in answering all kinds of questions posed by both foes and friends. Why were they afraid to ask? First, it would burst their hope, expectation and idols in the heart. They might have felt they would not be able to contain the obvious truth and implications of Jesus dying on the cross. To them, it was more comfortable to feign ignorance than to live with the reality and hard implications of the truth. There are those who deliberately close their minds and ears to the truth because they are not willing to pay the price of knowing the truth. They know that the knowledge of the truth will demand that they give up their sins, pleasures, possessions, worldliness and vanities. Since they are not willing to consecrate and pay the price, they avoid bible passages, sermons, preachers and assembly of saints where the truth is preached without fear or favour. In fact, such a kind of attitude will be characteristic of this age. *"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears"* (2 Timothy 4:3). The message or revelation from Jesus was a crushing stone on their worldly ambitions that had encumbered their minds. What was the worldly ambition that occupied their mind which the revelation of Jesus would destroy? Jesus *"asked them, What was it that ye disputed among yourselves by the way?"*. Their dispute was not heavenward, but worldly and earthly. *"They had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest"*. A heart occupied with worldly ambitions, aspirations, affections and affairs of this life will never be a germinating soil for the revelation of the mysteries of the kingdom of God.
*Question*
Are there any worldly thorns occupying your heart that make you despise or run away from the truth of the kingdom of God?
*2. Rules for Saintly Rulers*
a. The revelation of Jesus Christ, eventually, became a closed book to them since they were unwilling to understand and accept. This wilful ignorance remained with them till even after the resurrection of Christ. They were had spiritual blindness and dullness of hearing that even when Jesus resurrected, they could not recollect what Jesus told them about his death and resurrection. As a result, they lived in fear, hiding, unbelief and costly wilful ignorance until Jesus appeared after His resurrection and showed mercy to them. Truth or revelation rejected or despised will always result with dullness of heart, spiritual ignorance and lethargy. In fact, Jesus called them fools (Luke 24:25). It is always wisdom to open the ears and the heart wide to the full- orbed truth of the Word of God with willingness and consecration to do all that God commanded.
b. Jesus left off giving them further revelation in order to address their lust for position or eminence over others. He said, *"If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all"*. This is different from the worldly concept of leadership. What Jesus said had to do with the leadership concept in the kingdom of God. Service is the godly motivation for desiring leadership and not honour or praise from men. Since the hall mark of true service is humility, the Christian leadership is a life that is characterised with humility and not self ego of any form. The greater the position of leadership and responsibility, the deeper the humility, the more of service mentality and the less the desire to be popular or elevated above others. Such a person is consecrated to service delivery to the good of all without seeking for the praise and applause of men.
*Question*
What is the main rule that Jesus mentioned that a Christian leader must follow?
*3. Receiving the Saviour's Replicates*
The image of Christ is easily visible in little children or babes. He used their humility, simplicity, ready forgiveness, meekness, obedience to parents, and a life without hatred or malice to illustrate how the life of a believer should be and our attitudes to such people. *"And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them"*. Children are living replicas of Jesus though not totally exact. The beauty of the glory of Jesus could be seen in the children or babes. *"Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me"*. Our treatment and response to children or the Christlike is taken as our response to Jesus Himself. *"And whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me"*. Our response, attitude and treatment of Christ is taken as being done to God, the Father. So, a true disciple of Christ will always love and appreciate Christ including children, new converts and all that are Christlike irrespective of their religious afflictions.
*Question*
What is your attitude towards new converts and those that are Christlike?
*Prayer Points*
1.Lord, purge my mind and heart from all the love of the world that can hinder me from growing in grace .
2.Father, forgive me for all the cases where I have not fully submitted to Your Word and give me perfect love for the truth .
3.Lord, I hereby consecrate to be willing to always listen and do all Your Word commands without being selective .
4.Give all Your children the right attitude and disposition that will always love the whole totality of the truth .

Blessed is the man who trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.
—Jeremiah 17:7
The Scriptures predict that a new day is coming. There will be a golden age of prosperity when all perplexing problems-religious, social, or political-will find their complete solution. It will be a marvelous time for this mixed-up world. However, the Bible teaches that man will not bring about this coming golden age. Man alone cannot. The flaw in human nature is too great. Man has no ability to repair this damaged planet. God is our only hope! His plans are already formed, and they are perfectly stated in the Scriptures.

Blessed is the man who trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.

To know more, read the message below.
1. Morning Prayer
The steps of a [good] man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
Amen.

*MISPLACED PRIORITY* 📖📓🎚️🫵🏽🙋🏽♂️🙋🏽♀️📃🤔❓🙏🏽
📜📜```TEXT:MARK 9:30-37```📜📜
🔑📖```KEY VERSE:``` _*"For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day. But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him" (MARK 9:31, 32).*_

1.Lord, purge my mind and heart from all the love of the world that can hinder me from growing in grace 🙏.
2.Father, forgive me for all the cases where I have not fully submitted to Your Word and give me perfect love for the truth 🙏.
3.Lord, I hereby consecrate to be willing to always listen and do all Your Word commands without being selective 🙏.
4.Give all Your children the right attitude and disposition that will always love the whole totality of the truth 🙏.
