DAILY DEVOTION — December 23
Love That Came Down
1 John 4:9–10 (NKJV)
(In this the love of God was manifested toward us...)
Love became visible in the person of Jesus Christ. God’s love didn’t stay abstract or distant—it entered human history, walked among us, and reached out to the broken. John reminds us that love began with God, not with us.
We didn’t initiate this relationship; He did. That’s what makes grace so powerful—God loved us before we could ever return that love. Gratitude transforms how we receive it. When we understand that we’re loved freely and fully, we stop trying to earn God’s favor and start living from it.
God’s love is not just a feeling; it’s a reality that sustains our every breath.
Reflection Questions:
1. How can I better rest in the truth that God loved me first?
2. What does it mean to “live through Him” in daily life?
3. How can gratitude keep my heart aware of His love each day?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for showing Your love through Jesus. Help me to live in the confidence of being loved
unconditionally. May Your love shine through me to others who need to feel it. Amen.
Practical Application:
● Take a few quiet moments to thank God for His love made visible in Jesus.
● Share a word of encouragement or comfort with someone hurting today.
● Reflect on how God’s love has shaped your life story.
Takeaway Thought:
Love came down so we could rise up—this is the miracle of grace.
