THE GREATNESS OF GOD'S WORD

TEXT:DEUTERONOMY 10:1-5

MEMORY VERSE: "And he wrote on the tablets, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which The LORD spake unto you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and The LORD gave them unto me" (DEUTERONOMY 10:4).

D. L. Moody once said, "I never saw a useful Christian who was not a student of the Bible." God instructed Moses to make two tablets of stone to replace the initial ones he broke as a result of the rebellion of the Israelites. He was also to make an ark of wood where the tablets of commandments would be kept in the Tabernacle.
It is instructive to note here that, though the first tablets were broken, God's Words are indestructible, inerrant, never irrelevant, or to be refashioned. His Words superintendent over all human limitations and weaknesses. In all things, they must be given first place.
With the dismal failure of Israel to keep the law, God decided to write the laws no more on tablets of stone but on the fleshy tables of their hearts. This unique privilege is available for all children of God who sincerely pray and consecrate their lives for a true heart circumcision.
Do not wait for tablets of stone; read and study The Word on printed pages and electronic devices today, and obey them.

QUOTE: Read and study The Word.

CHALLENGE: Read God's word on printed pages and electronic devices.

PRAYER: Make me love and obey Your Word, dear Lord.
