Good evening and Merry Christmas.
1. Our evening prayer focuses on "Trusting in God's plan."
2. Do you know that the way of the wicked is darkness?
3. Do you know that the Word became flesh?
4. Do you have the gifts of the Spirit?
To know more, read the message below:
1. Evening Prayer
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. ⏤ Proverbs 3:5-6
God’s plans are always better than ours, even if they’re hidden in brokenness. ⏤ Corrie Ten Boom
In the quiet of the eventide, we come to You, our Father, for Your blessing. We are weary tonight after the day's toils and cares and come to You for rest. You have promised rest to those who come to You. Things have not all gone today as we had hoped they would. We intended to be very good and faithful—but while the spirit was willing, the flesh was weak—and we failed many times. Father, forgive us for these failures, and save us from repeating them.
Many of our expectations were not realized. We had our disappointments. Some of our plans failed. We leave these broken things with You. It was Your will that they should be broken because they were not Your plans. Our ways were not Your ways—but Your ways are wiser and better than ours. So we leave all with You, praying that Your plan for us may go on in all our broken plans, and that all things may indeed work together for our good.
We pray again for this dear home of ours—we must always pray for it. It needs Your grace afresh every day, that it may be kept heaven-like in this world of sin. Purify all our home affections. May all things serve to bring us nearer together and to bind us closer to each other. May our common toils and cares and sorrows—become new bands of love to hold us heart to heart in mutual love. May we never fail in patience, nor in unselfishness, nor in thoughtfulness. Give us the spirit of self-effacement, if we are called to make personal sacrifices in order that our home may be blessed. Pour into our hearts the spirit of love and grace, that we may be mutually helpful, and then our home shall be happy. We ask in the name of Jesus. Amen.

The Way of the Wicked is Darkness and Despair – (Proverbs 4:18-22)
The Way of the Wicked is Darkness and Despair – (Proverbs 4:18-22)
Daily Proverbs
But the path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is like darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble. My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.
Daily Bible Study
In this section of scripture, God is speaking to us as His children. He is renewing His plea to us not to walk in the darkness. Because the path of the wicked is filled with despair; it's tortuous and marked by violence. Though the weakness of the flesh may try to lure us to walk with the wicked, God assures us there is never happiness in the way of the wicked. There is only despair, hatred and anger because wickedness is rebellion against God. We have to remember what the apostle Paul told us. These present times are ruled by the "prince of the power of the air," who is Satan. And his only desire is to first separate us from God then destroy us. Why? Because we alone, unlike the rest of creation are created in God's image and Satan hates God.
In addition, because of the fall of mankind, this world is under Satan's influence. In other words, we live in a fallen world. This means that humanity in general is at enmity against God and will further work to persuade us to turn away from the Lord. Therefore, we must contrast the way of the world with the way of the just, who have been made righteous through Christ. We who have been made just by our faith in Christ, have an inner peace and joy because of what He did for us. A peace and joy which come from the renewing of our spirit as a result of our salvation. Moreover, we have a faith which brings a light as bright as the sun into our lives and a change in our character as the Holy Spirit works to change us from the inside out. This in turn produces a change in our character and in our outlook on life. A change which is evident to the world around us.

The Spirit’s Gifts
In our Christian fellowship, we must recognize that the blessed Holy Spirit of God desires to take men and women and control them, and use them as instruments through which He can express Himself in the body of Christ. Someone may try to give me credit for something they think I have done for God, but actually, God is doing it through His Holy Spirit—and using me as an instrument. There is no real sense in which we are able to do spiritual work of any kind without the Holy Spirit. We do know that the Apostle Paul said, “If any man have not the Spirit of Christ he is none of his” (Romans 8:9b). But he also exhorted those early believers not to ignore the Spirit’s gifts and to “covet earnestly the best gifts.” It is still important for us to fulfill the Spirit-given functions and capabilities, which are the spiritual birthright of every regenerated believer. We should not be looking around for some other way. God has given us in His Holy Spirit every gift and power and help that we need to serve Him!
Verse
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 1 Corinthians 12:7
Thought

Prayer
Lord, here I am; send me. Empower me with Your Holy Spirit; lead me and guide me to accomplish Your will through me and glorify Yourself. Amen.
