*๐ DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 364*
* DATE:30TH DECEMBER, 2025*
*TOPIC:THE GIFT OF HOPE*
*Anchor Scripture:Job 14:7 NKJV*
*โFor there is hope for a tree, if it is cut down, that it will sprout again, and that its tender shoots will not cease.โ*
*Devotional Message*
We are still reflecting on the powerful gifts that came with the birth of Jesus. So far, we have looked at the gift of forgiveness, the gift of Godโs presence, and the gift of salvation. Today, we focus on another life-transforming gift โ the gift of hope.
The Bible clearly tells us that โthere is hope for a tree that is cut downโ. This hope is not wishful thinking; it is found in Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God. Wherever Jesus is encountered, hopeless situations are rewritten.
In Scripture, we meet Martha and Mary, the sisters of Lazarus. Their brother had died, and it seemed all hope was lost. Although Jesus delayed, when Martha encountered Him, she declared, โLord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.โ Yet immediately, hope was rekindled when she added, โBut even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You.โ That statement reveals hope reborn through an encounter with Jesus.
I am reminded of a personal experience when I was about to join the university. At the time, I was not very serious with God because my parents had assured me that everything concerning my university education was well planned. However, a day before admission, it became clear that nothing was in place. I was broken, confused, and overwhelmed with fear. But in that moment, one thought stood out โ what Jesus can do. I remembered that nothing is too hard for Him. As I sought Him, doors opened miraculously. My admission, school fees, accommodation, and provision throughout my four years were divinely settled. I know it was Jesus who came through, using people in ways I could never have imagined.
We also see the man at the pool of Bethesda whose hope had completely faded. He depended on men to help him into the pool, but no one came to his rescue. However, when he encountered Jesus, hope was restored and he was made whole.
Scripture records parents whose children had died, yet upon encountering Jesus, hope was revived when they declared, โOnly say a word, and my child will be well.โ And indeed, it happened.
Child of God, our true hope is found in Jesus Christ. He is able to change whatever situation you are facing right now โ just as He did in Scripture and just as He has done in my life. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
*Prayer*
Lord Jesus, thank You for the gift of hope You brought into the world. Where my heart has grown weary, restore my hope. Where situations seem cut off and lifeless, breathe new life again. Help me to trust You fully, knowing that nothing is impossible with You. I declare that my hope is alive in Christ. In Jesusโ Name, Amen.
