1. Morning Prayer

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. ⏤ Psalm 51:10

True blessing is the gift that transforms, leading us into His likeness. ⏤ J.C. Ryle

Father, we ask for Your true blessing this morning. Let it come into our lives and make us more like Jesus. May it become a source of life within us, causing us to hate sin more and to love what is right and good. May it leave a deeper mark of Jesus upon us, imprinting His image more clearly in our hearts.

We want to carry Your blessing with us throughout the day. May it help us love You more, follow You better, and serve You more faithfully. We ask You, as we always do, to forgive our sins and cleanse our hearts and lives. We know we’re not worthy to receive any blessings from You, but You are gracious and merciful. We come to You, trusting that our sins will be blotted out when we truly confess and repent of them. Give us the grace of true repentance, so we can receive Your forgiveness and peace.

We want to leave our sins behind and not keep repeating them. Help us to put them away for good. If we’ve wronged anyone, give us the grace to make it right. If we’ve taken anything that doesn’t belong to us, help us to return it. May our faith make us honest and truthful, just and righteous. Save us from a faith that doesn’t change our lives. May our faith go deep into our hearts, cleansing and transforming us, and leading us to live in a way that honors You. We pray in Jesus' precious name. Amen.

2. MORNING TEA. THE WORD FOR TODAY
WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 31, 2025.
"GOD HAS SOMETHING BETTER FOR YOU"
‘The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.’ Psalms 84:11 NLT

WHEN GOD knows something is good for you He says ‘Yes’, and when it’s not He says ‘No’. Why would God say ‘no’ to you? Maybe the timing is wrong, or He has something better in mind. Gratitude comes when you realise what could have happened, but didn’t because God intervened. Stop trying to break loose from the loving grip of the One who holds you for your own protection. The Bible says: ‘Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust Him, and He will help you…Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for Him to act’ (Psalms 37:4-7 NLT). Looking back on her life, Billy Graham’s wife, Ruth, said, ‘If the Lord had said “Yes” to all my prayer requests I’d have married the wrong man—several times.’ What you’re so upset about now, you may be thanking God for later. The more spiritually mature you become, the more you begin to see how wise your heavenly Father is, and the more you learn to trust Him. The Psalmist wrote, ‘The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want’ (Psalms 23:1 KJV). What a picture: God leading you, God feeding you, God protecting you, God watching over you. Like a lifeguard at a beach, in order to save you, God will sometimes interrupt your life, risk embarrassing you in front of your friends, and maybe even bruise a rib or two. That’s because He loves you too much to let you drown in the thing you thought was so good for you. The main thing is : God has something better for you!

*TOPIC:*
EMMANUEL SHALL RETURN.

*TEXT:*
REVELATION 19:11-21.
11. I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice He judges and wages war.
12. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on His head are many crowns. He has a name written on Him that no one knows but He Himself.
13. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and His name is the Word of God.
14. The armies of heaven were following Him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.
15. Coming out of His mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter." He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.
16. On His robe and on His thigh He has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
17. And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, "Come, gather together for the great supper of God,
18. so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and the mighty, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, great and small."
19. Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to wage war against the rider on the horse and His army.
20. But the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had performed the signs on its behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.
21. The rest were killed with the sword coming out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.

TOPIC: YOU MADE IT!

MEMORISE
"Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth." Psalm 124:6

READ: Psalm 124:1-8 (KJV)
1. If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, Now may Israel say;

2. If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us:

3. Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:

4. Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:

5. Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.

6. Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.

7. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.

8. Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

MESSAGE
If you are reading today's devotional, God has been really good to you! He has taken you through 364 days in 2025, and you will see the end of today as well in joy, in Jesus' name.

Storms arose during the year, and fierce winds blew, but God kept you safe. He preserved your life despite the enemy's attempts to destroy you. I want you to take some minutes to truly praise the Lord.

If 2025 has been a really good year for you, I want to tell you that there are better days ahead.

God is about to give you a new book with 365 blank pages! His thoughts towards you are always good (Jeremiah 29:11), and He has gone ahead of you to make 2026 a blessed year for you.

Did you experience some unpleasant events this year? Cheer up; God is making all things new. My Daddy will restore anything that you might have lost (Joel 2:25), and He will give you a fresh start in 2026, in Jesus' name.
Beloved, as you transition into 2026, I want you to do the following:

1. Reflect deeply on all God has done for you, and thank Him abundantly. It is because of Him that you are still standing.

2. Forget everything that has happened to you in the past. You cannot move forward if your gaze is fixed on what is behind you. If you had numerous achievements in 2025, you need to keep pressing forward like Paul because there is so much more to achieve (Philippians 3:13-14). On the other hand, if you experienced many failures, stop counting your losses. Look unto Jesus; He will surely give you good success in 2026 (Psalm 121:1-2).

3. Abstain from every appearance of evil (1 Thessalonians 5:22). You cannot triumph over the roadblocks and traps the enemy has set for you if you allow sin into your life. Sin will keep you from progressing into God's great plans for you in 2026. Do not allow the devil to cheat you of God's best for you in the coming year.

4. Fix your gaze on Jesus; you need Him now more than ever. Allow Him to hold your hands, obey His instructions completely, and it will be well with You. Only those who are willing to follow Him wholeheartedly and are obedient to all His instructions shall eat the good of 2026 (Isaiah 1:19).

God has wonderful things in store for you in the next 365 days.

In the name that is above all other names, I pray that you will not miss God's best for you in 2026. Your life will not be cut short, and your eyes will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living, in Jesus' name.

ACTION POINT
Spend some time reflecting on God's goodness in 2025, and thank Him wholeheartedly throughout today.

HYMN 17 - PRAISE MY SOUL, THE KING OF HEAVEN
1. Praise, my soul, the King of Heaven,
To His feet your tribute bring.
Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven,
Evermore His praises sing.
Alleluia! alleluia!
Praise the everlasting King!

2. Praise Him for His grace and favour
To His people in distress.
Praise Him, still the same as ever,
Slow to chide and swift to bless.
Alleluia! alleluia!
Glorious in His faithfulness!

3. Father-like He tends and spares us,
Well our feeble frame He knows,
In His hand he gently bears us,
Rescues us from all our foes:
Alleluia! alleluia!
Widely yet His mercy flows!

4. Angels, help us to adore Him!
You behold Him face to face.
Sun and moon, bow down before Him,
Dwellers all in time and space,
Alleluia! alleluia!
Praise with us the God of grace!

*COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS*

*TEXT:* 1 SAMUEL 2:1-9.

1 And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the LORD, mine horn is exalted in the LORD: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation.
2 There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.
3 Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.
4 The bows of the mighty men are broken, and they that stumbled are girded with strength.
5 They that were full have hired out themselves for bread; and they that were hungry ceased: so that the barren hath born seven; and she that hath many children is waxed feeble.
6 The LORD killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up.
7 The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up.
8 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD'S, and he hath set the world upon them.
9 He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.

*Timeless Truth:*_"Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits"_ (Psalm 103:2).

*INTRODUCTION*

Johnson Oatman Jr. in 1897, the author of the popular Hymn, "Count your blessings", facing widespread hardship and uncertainty, penned lyrics that served as a spiritual anchor, telling people to look past troubles to God's goodness. The popular hymn has been a source of praise and encouragement to multitudes. The Chorus is always and ever inspiring. "Count your blessings, name them one by one;
Count your blessings, see what God hath done;
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done". The text shows how Hannah responded with praise and thanksgiving after passing through barrenness and the attendant's shame for about many years. For those who may think the passing year was not as good, when they count their divinely given blessings of the passing year, they will have many reasons to praise God.

*1. Praises after Retrospection*

a. Hannah had a taste of what Sarah passed through as a result of many years of barrenness. At that time, barrenness was a very shameful and reproachful experience. Like, Sarah, Hannah patiently waited and endured the public ridicule and shame for many years. But now she has a testimony which cannot be covered. Public ridicule and reproach resulted in public testimony, honour and glory. That is the way of God for those who patiently wait for God during their trials and temptations. *"And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the LORD, mine horn is exalted in the LORD"*. The Scriptures says, *"Weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning "* (Psalm 30:5). We read of Hannah weeping passionately at home and in Shiloh for the blessings of the womb in an earlier chapter, and in this chapter we could see her rejoicing. For the faithful believers, joy will always triumph over shame, ridicule and reproach. She said *"my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation"*. The horn is a picture of strength in the Bible like the horn is the strength of animals like ox (Psalms 75:4-5 and 92:10). Thus, she became strengthened and energized as a result of what God had done for her.
b. This great act of God made her to exalt God as incomparable to any. Of all the character and nature of God, the one that caught her attention most is the holiness of God. *"There is none holy as the LORD"*. Holiness, truthfulness and reliability of God with respect to His promises as God who cannot lie are part of his holiness. The holy will always prefer to exalt the holiness of God while the polluted and the corrupted will stop short of preaching and praising the holiness of God as a matter of constancy *"For there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God"*. There was no medical solution to barrenness at that time. Those who had the problem would have to live with it and die in it except for a miraculous intervention of God. It was only God that could perform that miracle.

*Question*

Do you believe in your heart that your travail and trials will turn to rejoicing in the Lord as you keep believing?

*2. Paradox of Reality*

a. For people like Penninah, her rival, who made life difficult, and contemptuous and ridiculous towards Hannah, Hannah had this exhortation for them about life. *"Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth"*. Proud and arrogant words were used to torment Hannah every time by Penninah. That was as a result of ignorance, pride and arrogance not knowing that what turns around comes around. *"For the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed"*.
b. She, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, mentioned some paradox of life that should always keep people in humility without humiliating others. *"The bows of the mighty men are broken, and they that stumbled are girded with strength"*. Things can turn around that the mighty are falling and the powerless and the belittled are victorious. Think of David and Goliath. The full and wealthy can lose all their wealth in sicknesses, business collapse etc. to the point that they become beggars overnight or with time. At the same time, those who are in zeros can become heroes. There are God's ways of humbling and humiliating the proud and at the same time the humbled are lifted up and exalted. *"For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust"*. The acts of God are also responses of justice. God can always and at anytime allow power, including wealth, to change hands. *"The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up"*. There are many cases like that in the Bible and contemporary times. While not having anybody in mind, these acts of God are worthy of rejoicing and prayers because there is no condition that is permanent when God is involved. There were poor and many errand boys like David that eventually became kings and rulers of those who once ruled them. God should be praised because He watches from heaven and turns things around according to His pleasure. Esther was a slave and a foreigner. Any hope for such a person? She eventually became Queen and the most powerful woman in the empire then. Nebuchadnezzar was the most powerful and wealthiest person in the Golden Babylonian empire. Suddenly he was attacked by incurable sickness and disease which made him behaved and ate like an animal. He lost all his positions including memory overnight. It was only the mercy of God that made him recover all his losses after seven years in the bush. Such is life.

*Question*

Are you convinced that there is nothing in the world that seems permanent that should allow pride or distress to set in?

*3. Prevailment of Righteousness*

Hannah was a righteous person. Though the co-wife was tormenting and torturing her psychologically, we never read of Hannah responding to her in retaliation. Rather Hannah only carried her pains and sorrow of heart to God in unceasing prayer. Her righteousness was rewarded with six children, four males and two females, Samuel included (1 Samuel 2:21,22). God has a rewarding responsibility towards the righteous like Hannah, most especially those who retain their white garment in the midst of turmoil, temptations and trials. *"God will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail"*. The righteous will always laugh last while the wicked will regret eternally. God's ways are perfect and praises with thanksgiving should be ascribed to Him always.

*Question*

Do you praise God for His righteousness?

*Prayer Points*

1.Recall some of the wonderful things God has done for you in the passing year and give praises to God with thanksgiving .
2.Praise God for His holy and righteous character coupled with His justice .
3.Ask God to give you a heart of praise so that praises and thanksgiving will never cease from your mouth .
4.Ask for last hour blessings that cannot be covered for yourself and for all God's children as the year ends .

Praise with us the God of grace! 5. *MEDITATIONS ON DAILY* *ⓂANNA* WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 31ST, 2025. *COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS* *TEXT:* 1 SAMUEL 2:1-9. 1 And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the LORD, mine horn is exalted in the LORD: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation. *INTRODUCTION* Johnson Oatman Jr. in 1897, the author of the popular Hymn, "Count your blessings", facing widespread hardship and uncertainty, penned lyrics that served as a spiritual anchor, telling people to look past troubles to God's goodness. The popular hymn has been a source of praise and encouragement to multitudes. The Chorus is always and ever inspiring. "Count your blessings, name them one by one; Count your blessings, see what God hath done; Count your blessings, name them one by one,  And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done". The text shows how Hannah responded with praise and thanksgiving after passing through barrenness and the attendant's shame for about many years. For those who may think the passing year was not as good, when they count their divinely given blessings of the passing year, they will have many reasons to praise God. *1. Praises after Retrospection* a. *Question* Do you believe in your heart that your travail and trials will turn to rejoicing in the Lord as you keep believing? *2. Paradox of Reality* a. *Question* Are you convinced that there is nothing in the world that seems permanent that should allow pride or distress to set in? *3. Prevailment of Righteousness* Hannah was a righteous person. *Question* Do you praise God for His righteousness? *Prayer Points* 1.Recall some of the wonderful things God has done for you in the passing year and give praises to God with thanksgiving 🙏. 2.Praise God for His holy and righteous character coupled with His justice 🙏. 3.Ask God to give you a heart of praise so that praises and thanksgiving will never cease from your mouth 🙏. 4.Ask for last hour blessings that cannot be covered for yourself and for all God's children as the year ends 🙏. *HYMN:* Count Your blessings *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* REVELATION 21-22. Buy the truth and sell it not. Your eternity and holiness is not for sale.
