3. Do you pray for humility?

To konw more, read the message below.

1. Evening Prayer

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. ⏤ 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Praise is the language of faith, lifting our hearts to see God’s hand in all things. ⏤ Matthew Henry

Lord, we praise You for Your mercy, truth, and all the wonders of Your love. Teach us how to sing Your praises. Sometimes we forget to sing because we so rarely express our gratitude. We come to You often with our needs, asking for many things, but we don’t thank You as often as we should. We forget to thank You for the very things we prayed for, not realizing that they are answers to our prayers, gifts from Your hand.

Father, we confess this sin of ingratitude and ask for Your forgiveness. Help us to show our repentance by thanking You more faithfully for all the blessings of Your love and grace. We thank You now for answered prayers, for the good things You provide, for the blessings of Your Word and Spirit, for our home and friends, and for all the benefits of living in this country and being part of Your church.

We thank You for today’s blessings, for its joys, for all the good it has brought us, for Your presence with us, and for the hope of eternal life. We thank You for being our Father, for loving us, and for revealing Your grace and comfort to us.

Teach us to sing Your praises, not just with our lips, but with our lives. May our actions, our character, and our conduct be a song of praise to You. May everyone who sees us hear the music of love and praise in our lives. Fill us with the joy of Jesus, and then we will sing. Breathe Your life into our souls, and then our lives will be a song. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.

Rejoice With the Wife of Your Youth – (Proverbs 5:18-20)

Daily Proverbs

And rejoice with the wife of your youth. As a loving deer and a graceful doe, let her breasts satisfy you at all times; and always be enraptured with her love. For why should you, my son, be enraptured by an immoral woman, and be embraced in the arms of a seductress?
Daily Bible Study
These passages speak of the character and behavior of the Christian as it relates to godly authority. The word here used for "change" means "rebellion." And it refers to rebellion against authority. And doing so with the intention of undermining civil order and promoting chaos and destruction. We are called by God to respect authority, both human and divine. We are called by the Lord to live at peace with others in a godly manner. Moreover, God commands us directly not to intertwine ourselves with those who wish to bring about rebellion and chaos. We are not to condone, nor support those who wish to bring about chaos, loss of civil order and destruction. When taken in context with the other passages, this speaks of using the power of the Holy Spirit to show loving kindness to all we come in contact with. This includes our enemies and those who might abuse their authority.

We are called to trust in the Lord and as far as it's within our power to live at peace with others. We do this knowing it's not through our own human will power that we accomplish this, but rather through the power of the Holy Spirit who indwells every believer. Lastly the phrase, "fear the Lord" does not mean to be afraid of God, but rather to be in relationship with Him. It means to have a deep down love, awe, reverence and respect for God. To have more concern and love for the Lord than we have for ourselves. To be more afraid of not having a close relationship with God than we have for anything else. We have to remember, every person who has ever lived, who is alive today and who will ever live. Have all been created in the image of God. This means that we were specially created by God to have a relationship with Him. And it's through our relationship with God, that we can have the power of God, which strengthens us and helps us to do what is asked of us here in these passages.

Prayer For Humility
Now, O Lord of heaven and earth, I consecrate my remaining days to Thee; let them be many or few, as Thou wilt. I accept hard work and small rewards in this life. I ask for no easy place. I shall try to be blind to the little ways that could make life easier. If others seek the smoother path I will try to take the hard way without judging them too harshly. I shall expect opposition and try to take it quietly when it comes. Or if, as sometimes it falleth out to Thy servants, I should have grateful gifts pressed upon me by Thy kindly people, stand by me then and save me from the blight that often follows. Teach me to use whatever l receive in such manner that will not injure my soul nor diminish my spiritual power. Let me never forget that I am a man with all the natural faults and passions that plague the race of men. And if in Thy permissive providence honor should come to me from Thy Church, let me not forget that I am unworthy of the least of Thy mercies.

Verse
Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service.Romans 12:1

Thought
Teach me to use whatever l receive in such manner that will not injure my soul nor diminish my spiritual power.

Prayer
Lord, I surrender all to you—my will, emotions, intellect, and body. Be the Lord of my life, and lead me in the way of righteousness.
