*šŸ•Š DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 2*
* DATE:2ND JANUARY, 2026*
*TOPIC: INQUIRING OF THE LORD FOR GUARANTEED VICTORY*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: PSALM 127:1 —NKJV*
*ā€œUnless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build itā€¦ā€*
*Devotional Message*

Upon studying the life of David, one of the mighty men of God recorded in the book of Samuel, we discover a powerful principle that governed his victories: David never went to battle without first inquiring of the Lord. Before every confrontation, he would ask God, ā€œShall I go? Will You deliver them into my hands?ā€ It was only after God gave him assurance that David proceeded. This teaches us that David did not rely on experience, strength, or past victories, but on divine direction.

At some point, David did not only ask whether to go to battle, but also inquired about the strategy to use. The Lord responded and revealed the specific approach he was to take. This shows us that victory is not just about knowing what God wants us to do, but also how He wants it done. David’s confidence and total trust in God is the reason why he obtained victory in all his battles—God was involved from the planning stage all the way to execution.

As we step into a new year, many of us have plans, projects, visions, and expectations for 2026. However, Scripture reminds us that unless the Lord builds the house, the laborers labor in vain, and that many are the plans in a man’s heart, but the counsel of the Lord shall stand. It is therefore vital not only to know what God wants us to do, but also to consistently inquire of Him concerning every step we take.

It is possible to know what God desires and still fail because you chose to use your own strategy without seeking His guidance. Many people end up blaming God when things fall apart, yet along the way they stopped inquiring of Him and leaned on their own understanding. That is why Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit—to order our steps, guide our decisions, and lead us through the path of victory. When we allow the Holy Spirit to direct our plans, strategies, and actions, we avoid unnecessary losses and walk in God’s perfect will.

Like David, if we desire victory in every area of our lives—family, business, ministry, career, and personal growth—we must involve God from the foundation of every matter to its full implementation. Let God remain at the center, and continually trust Him by inquiring of Him in every step you make, no matter how small it may seem.

*Prayer*

Father, I submit my plans, visions, and strategies before You. Help me not to rely on my own understanding but to inquire of You in every decision I make. Holy Spirit, order my steps and lead me in the path of victory. Let all I do be established by You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
