Good morning, brethren. Our devotional is as follows:
1. Morning devotional.
MORNING TEA. THE WORD FOR TODAY
SUNDAY JANUARY 4, 2026.
"YOU MUST EXERCISE FAITH"
âHe couldnât do any miracles among themâŠAnd He was amazed at their unbelief.â Mark 6:5-6 NLT
GOD ANSWERS prayer in a manner directly related to our level of faith. âAccording to your faith be it unto youâ (Matthew 9:29 KJV). Yet sometimes in spite of our doubts and human reasoning, He comes through for us anyway. The believers praying for Peterâs release from prison were amazed when he suddenly appeared on their doorstep (Acts 12). When Jesus returned to His home town and began to teach in the local synagogue, the people were amazed by His wisdom. Because He lacked formal education and credentials they wrote Him off as âjust a carpenterâ (Mark 6:3 NLT). And the result? âBecause of their unbelief, He couldnât do any miracles among them except to place His hands on a few sick people and heal them.â Question: How often does your unbelief tie Godâs hands? The truth is: a) sometimes our faith is so weak that we donât expect Him to answer at all; b) we fail to pray with confidence;
c) we donât prepare ourselves for what He wants to do for us. You canât ask God for forgiveness, then continue to live under condemnation over sins He has put under the blood. Or pray about your financial situation, then worry yourself sick about how Heâs going to meet your needs. You can choose to live by your feelings, or in a way that reflects total trust in God. The Bible says, âWithout faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that HeâŠis a rewarderâ (Hebrews 11:6 NKJV). So you must exercise faith.

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. †Exodus 20:8
The Sabbath is the link between the paradise which has passed away and the paradise which is yet to come. †Andrew Murray
Dear God, we start this Sunday with You. Itâs Your day, and we want to honor that. Youâve given us this day not as a burden but as a gift. We need the rest to stay healthy, and we need the spiritual refreshment to keep our hearts warm and full of love. Without this day, we might forget to keep You at the center of our lives. So weâre grateful for this day that Youâve set aside for us.
Please make this Sunday a day full of blessings. Help us to focus on You and let go of the worldâs distractions. Let us hear Your gentle voice in the quiet moments, reminding us of Your love.
Fill our home with Your peace. Our minds have been stressed and overwhelmed by the weekâs demands. Give us Your calm this morning. Take away our worries and anxieties. If the world has taken too much of our focus, let Your grace take over so that You are at the center of our lives again. Strengthen our love for You, so it pushes out any love for things that donât matter.
Bless everything about this day. As we read Your word, help us understand it and let its teachings guide our lives. As we pray, may we receive the blessings we need: comfort when weâre sad, strength when weâre weak, guidance when weâre unsure, and wisdom when we donât know what to do.
As we try to be a blessing to others, help us to have the same mindset as Jesus. We ask all this in Jesus' name. Amen.
