*🕊 DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 5*
* DATE: 5TH JANUARY, 2026*
*TOPIC: UNITY: THE MISSING KEY TO SUBDUING THE EARTH*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: GENESIS 1:28 —NKJV*
*“Then God blessed them, and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it…’”*
*Devotional Message*
When God created the heavens and the earth, the Bible records that He blessed man. This blessing was not merely material—it was empowerment. God empowered man to operate in His realm and released a divine mandate: to be fruitful, multiply, and subdue the earth. To subdue means to bring the earth under the government of heaven, where the Kingdom of God reigns.
However, this mandate has not yet been fully achieved. One of the major hindrances has been selfishness and insecurity across generations. Many desire control, honor, and recognition for themselves alone, forgetting that this Kingdom does not operate on personal empires but on corporate dominion. God never intended one man to rule alone—He intended a united body to manifest His rule on earth.
In 1 Chronicles 18, we read of King David, a man who was never defeated in battle. The Moabites, Edomites, Ammonites, Philistines, and Amalekites were subdued and became his subjects. David expanded territory because he focused on the common enemy and operated under divine order.
But when we move to 2 Chronicles 21, another king arises—Jehoram. Instead of confronting external enemies, Jehoram turned against his own brothers and killed them out of fear and insecurity, worried they might threaten his position. What he did not realize was that by attacking his own, he was weakening his authority. As a result, the Edomites revolted, followed by Libnah, and his kingdom began to crumble.
This pattern mirrors what is happening in the Church today. Instead of confronting our common enemy—the devil—we have turned against one another. Denominations fight denominations. Leaders attack leaders. Congregants are divided along doctrinal and denominational lines. Social media has become a battleground where believers wound each other with words, causing some to stop serving God altogether.
As a result, the Church has remained a weak light bearer, unable to fully subdue the earth or bring it under the government of God as intended. Unity is not optional—it is essential for dominion. We cannot fulfill the Great Commission while divided.
The Apostle Paul explains this clearly by comparing the Church to a body. The body has many parts, each with a unique function, yet all form one body. No part can say it does not need the other. Each of us carries a different measure of grace, and our dependence on one another is by divine design.
Child of God, if we are to subdue the earth, advance the Kingdom, and bring all resources under God’s government, we must walk in unity, speak the same language, and fight the right enemy. Division weakens authority, but unity releases dominion.
*Prayer*
Father, forgive us for every form of division, pride, and insecurity that has weakened Your Church. Teach us to walk in unity, honor one another’s grace, and stand together against the enemy. Make us one body, advancing Your Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
