Good evening, brethren.

1. Evening devotional.

*DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

*DATE:*
TUESDAY, 6TH JANUARY, 2026

*SUB-THEME:*
THE AMAZING GRACE OF GOD

*TOPIC:*
FULL OF COMPASSION

*TEXT:*
PSALMS 86:13-15
13. For great is Your love toward me; You have delivered me from the depths, from the realm of the dead.
14. Arrogant foes are attacking me, O God; ruthless people are trying to kill me— they have no regard for You.
15. But You, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.

*TOPIC:*
FULL OF COMPASSION

*THE MESSAGE:*
Compassion is a feeling of deep sympathy and concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others. David describes God as "compassionate and gracious," indicating how He cares deeply for His creation and responds to their needs with mercy. The phrase "slow to anger" also indicates God's patience and willingness to forgive. The gracious God is not too quick to pass judgement that is why He reached out to rescue man from impending destruction. Believers are called to embody compassion in their homes, places of work, church, and the community. Sadly, some believers are judgemental, harbouring grudges, and hardly forgive others. Remember, God showed you compassion when you needed Him. So, be compassionate!

*REFLECTION:*
Do not ignore the suffering of others.

*PRAYER:*
Heavenly Father, help me to be compassionate to all. Amen.

*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
EPHESIANS 2:8-9.
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast."

*TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
GENESIS 12-14.

2. Evening prayer.

Evening Prayer

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. ⏤ Romans 8:38-39

The love of Christ towards us is not measured by our love toward Him. ⏤ Charles Spurgeon

Jesus, strong Son of God, bless us tonight. Forgive us our sins. We love You—You know that we love You—but sometimes our lives don’t show it. We admit that we fall short and often seem unfaithful. But we thank You that Your love isn’t based on ours. You love us despite our sins and failures. Your love is vast and overflowing, covering all our wrongs and filling the depths of our hearts. You love us to the end and beyond. You loved us so much that You gave Yourself to save and purify us.

Tonight, we seek refuge in Your love. It’s the safest place to be, even more so than a mother’s embrace. We are tired, and we find rest in You. We are weak, but being close to You makes us stronger because Your strength flows into us. We are flawed, but Your pure love cleanses us. We are sometimes harsh, but Your love softens our hearts, warms us, and fills us with kindness.

Draw us close to You, dear Savior—close to Your heart. John learned how to love by being close to You, and we want to learn that same lesson. May we be changed by spending time with You.

Now, Jesus, we’re going to rest for the night. We’re not afraid because You will watch over us. Keep us safe and give us peaceful sleep. We ask all this in Your name. Amen.
