Good morning, brethren.

1. Morning devotional.

MORNING TEA. THE WORD FOR TODAY
WEDNESDAY JANUARY 7, 2026.
"WHEN FATIGUE THREATENS YOU (2)"
тАШBe still, and know that I am God.тАЩ Psalms 46:10 NIV

WHEN YOU'RE running on fumes, instead of berating yourself for failed attempts at тАШspiritualityтАЩ, one writer says itтАЩs time to тАШtie a tourniquet on the wound of busynessтАж[or] weтАЩll bleed a spiritual death. Doing more, and doing it faster, isnтАЩt taking us to a place of peace. The distraction is nothing more than a momentary escape. Sooner or later we have to stopтАжPsalm 46:10 says, тАЬBe still, and know that I am God.тАЭ When weтАЩre forced to be still the magnitude of the weight we carry becomes enormous, the loneliness unbearable. We think momentum keeps us from thinkingтАжfrom feelingтАжfrom knowing sooner or later we have to stop.тАЩ When you need to be spiritually restored, go to the throne, not the phone! No matter how good your friends are, they canтАЩt meet your need like God can. Jesus said, тАШCome to MeтАжand I will give you restтАЩ (Matthew 11:28 NIV). Consider it His personal RSVP to talk to Him and tell Him how you feel, like a child talks to a loving parent who can help them. Designate a special place to be alone with God, and discipline yourself to go there often. And donтАЩt just tell Him what you need; listen for what HeтАЩs trying to tell you. DonтАЩt be in a hurry to get back into the rat race; stay in GodтАЩs presence until you understand that the burdens youтАЩre carrying were never meant to be shouldered alone. The most important thing: we find time for what we consider important, so get your priorities straight and тАШseek first His kingdomтАЩ (Matthew 6:33 NIV). When you тАШcome near to GodтАжHe will come near to youтАЩ (James 4:8 NIV).

Morning Prayer

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. тПд John 8:12

To pray well is the better half of study. тПд Martin Luther

Our heavenly Father, as the light of this new day brightens the world, let the light of Your love fill our hearts and surround us. We canтАЩt live without You! Show us Your grace and mercy today. We know weтАЩre not worthyтАФnot even worthy to gather the crumbs from under Your tableтАФbut You invite us to come close, not just to take crumbs, but to sit at Your table as honored guests, sharing in all the blessings of Your grace! So, we come to You now, asking to be filled with good things from Your hand. Let us drink deeply from the rivers of Your joy.

We want to go through today with You watching over us and staying close by our side. Show us the way, because we canтАЩt find it on our own and would never make it home without Your guidance. Fill our minds with good thoughts, because we can only think beautiful thoughts when they come from You, like stars lighting up our hearts! Every good thing in our lives comes from You. Just like every stream is born in the clouds, every good thing in life is born in Heaven, coming straight from Your heart! Send good and beautiful thoughts and feelings into our hearts, so that we can spread Your blessings to everyone we meet today.

Father, prepare us now to make other lives better today. Let the fire of love burn in our hearts, and may others be inspired to love and find joy through us. Help us comfort those who are hurting. May we carry each otherтАЩs burdens. Let us always show the greatness of Your mercy, the tenderness of Your love, and the abundance of Your grace.

We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
