Good evening, brethren.

1. Evening devotional.

*DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

*DATE:*
THURSDAY, 8TH JANUARY

*SUB-THEME:*
THE AMAZING GRACE OF GOD

*TOPIC:*
KINDNESS

*TEXT:*
ROMANS 2:1-6
1. You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.
2. Now we know that God’s judgment against those who do such things is based on truth.
3. So when you, a mere human being, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment?
4. Or do you show contempt for the riches of His kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?
5. But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when His righteous judgment will be revealed.
6. God “will repay each person according to what they have done.”

*TOPIC:*
KINDNESS

*THE MESSAGE:*
The Jewish Christians had a ridiculing attitude towards the Gentile believers. They judged them based on their past lifestyles. But Paul cautioned them that the one who passes judgement unto another is actually judging himself, and will also face God's judgement. Paul then called on them to reflect on the richness of God's kindness. This is to spur them to be kind and tolerate one another. When believers are generous, considerate, and friendly, they are displaying kindness. This will create a peaceful environment where repentance and forgiveness thrive. It is painful to see a Christian treats others cruelly without consideration. Do not be selfish, wanting everything for yourself. Please, consider others.

*REFLECTION:*
Be kind to all.

*PRAYER:*
Father, help me to be kind to others. Amen.

*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
EPHESIANS 2:8-9.
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast."

*TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
GENESIS 18-20.

2. Evening prayer.

Evening Prayer

To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth. God [is] our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. ⏤ Psalm 46:1

Faith is to prayer what the feather is to the arrow; it feathers the arrow of prayer and makes it fly swifter and pierce the throne of grace. ⏤ Thomas Watson

Night has fallen again, and we come to find refuge in You. You are our safe place and our strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. We don’t fear the darkness because You’re there too. It’s just Your way of wrapping us up in Your care. You’re as present in the darkness as You are in the light. Let the night cover us like Your wings—where we find safety, warmth, and blessing.

Not everything went well today. We had our struggles. Our hearts were hurt. But You are the healer—will You heal us? Take the tangled messes we’ve made, straighten them out, and weave them into something beautiful! Take the dark moments of today, the things that seem wrong, and by Your grace, turn them into blessings. Help us let go of the complicated parts of our lives that we can’t fix and trust You to bring good out of them.

We ask for a stronger faith so that we never doubt Your love or goodness. Save us from fear and from disbelief. Help our weak faith to grow. Help us see the invisible truths and rest on them like a solid rock!

Forgive the sins of this day. Thank You for all Your goodness. Watch over us tonight and bless us with restful sleep, giving us renewed strength. If we wake up in the morning, let us be ready for a new day of service. We ask all of this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
