*🕊 DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 10*
* DATE: 10TH JANUARY, 2026*
*TOPIC: WERE THERE NOT TEN CLEANSED?*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: — LUKE 17:17 (NKJV)*
*“ So Jesus answered and said, ‘Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine?’”*
*Devotional Message*
These are the words of Jesus after He showed mercy to ten lepers who cried out to Him. All ten were cleansed of leprosy, yet only one returned to give thanks—and he was a Samaritan. The Bible records that this one did not only receive cleansing but was made whole.
This reflects the nature of many believers today. Many pursue God earnestly during seasons of need, trusting Him for turnaround, healing, provision, or change. However, once prayers are answered, gratitude fades. As Apostle Paul states, “Although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful”—and their hearts became darkened. After God answers just a portion of what He intends to do in their lives, many turn their backs, unknowingly robbing themselves of greater blessings.
Jesus clearly teaches that faithfulness with little qualifies one to be entrusted with more. Gratitude is the foundation of faithfulness. The Psalmist declares, “I will recount all the deeds of the Lord”, showing that thanksgiving is a deliberate act of remembrance and honor toward God.
Many have been healed of sicknesses, provided with school fees, granted scholarships, restored in families, and delivered from troubles. Yet after receiving answers, they neither testify nor return to God in thanksgiving. As a result, they keep restarting spiritually when they should be rising higher—simply because of ingratitude. God is remembered only in times of trouble and at personal convenience.
Child of God, our businesses, families, salvation, marriages, ministries, and health can be perfected and made whole if we make gratitude a lifestyle. We must overcome the deception of the enemy that shifts our focus from Jesus to the blessing itself. Thanksgiving keeps our hearts aligned with God and positions us for wholeness, not just temporary answers.
*Prayer*
Father, forgive me for the times I have received Your blessings and failed to return with gratitude. Teach me to live a life of thanksgiving and remembrance. Let my heart remain focused on You and not just on what You give. Make me faithful in little, that I may be entrusted with more. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
