THE PILGRIMS GUIDE
FRIDAY JANUARY 10, 2025
DEEP COMMUNION WITH CHRIST
A WORD FROM THE WORD:
"Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead." Philippians 3:8-11 NKJV.
Knowing the LORD Jesus in the real sense of it goes beyond a mere intellectual acumen. This is so true because it is associated with developing a deep relationship with Him.
A profound value of knowing the LORD Jesus and sharing in His sufferings is a latent drive to attaining a deeper relationship with Him, and this captures the essence of a close and transformative connection with Him.
Paul, the apostle, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit writes about his fiery passion to "... know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death." (v 10). This underscores his commitment to the pursuit of his burning desire for deep communion with Christ.
Give consideration to your prevailing relationship with the LORD Jesus, do you actively seek His presence and commune with Him on daily regular basis?
Do you repose your trust in Him as your LORD and personal Saviour?
PRAYER BULLETS:
LORD Jesus, I want to know more about You in a very intimate way. Draw me closer to You and grant me the willingness to have deep fellowship with You.
FURTHER READING:
Matthew 26:26-28; Acts 2:42; Revelation 3:20; 2 Timothy 2:15.
