COMMITTED DILIGENCE

A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"Commit your work to the LORD, and your thoughts will be established" Proverbs 16:3 NKJV.

In life, and as a child of God, failure is less likely when you align your actions and endeavours to the will of God for your life and service. Consider the four lepers used by God to fulfil the prophecy of His servant, Elisha, the prophet, in Israel (2 Kings 7:1-11). These were the class of people, who were not acceptable in the society, yet it pleased God to use them at that point, and they did not hesitate to align their actions to God’s will. Did you notice that though they were unclean and therefore ostracised outcasts, yet they reposed their faith in God, and did recognise their usefulness even in the face of their prevalent predicament, especially at that critical point in time in Israel? See, it doesn't matter what you think you're going through at the moment, take a very deep look inside of yourself with the eyes of the Spirit and you will see reasons to get up from the floor of despondency.

Read again what the lepers did; they interrogated their circumstance and then there arose an important life changing and national salvaging decision of ‘why are we sitting here until we die?’ (Vv 3-5). After that, they moved into the Syrian territory. What a courageous decision. But did you read what happened next? The LORD caused the army of Syrians to hear their steps as the noise of chariots, and that caused the armies of Syria to flee (vv 6-7).

When in your seeming defeatist situation/condition, you trust God with His word in you to do something to His glory you'll be surprised at the victory God will avail to your faith action. Don't just sit there moping and griping about your situation or circumstances, do something with your faith anchored in God's promises in His word.

PRAYER BULLETS:

ABBA Father, endue me with Your strength so that I can become a veritable tool in Your hand, dispensing Your blessings as a channel.

FURTHER READING:

Mark 10:46-52; 2 Kings 7:1-11; 1 Samuel 16:1.
