DARE TO PLEASE GOD
A WORD FROM THE WORD:
"Am I now trying to win the favor and approval of men, or of God? Or am I seeking to please someone? If I were still trying to be popular with men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ." Galatians 1:10 AMP
A story was told about a young woman and her boyfriend travelling from Lagos to a town in Delta State of Nigeria in a luxury bus. During the course of their journey, a fellow passenger preached the message of salvation and extended invitations to as many as who would like to give their lives to the LORD Jesus, she was convicted by the message and indicated by raising up one of her hands to be prayed for by the preacher; but her boyfriend would have none of that. He swiftly and forcefully brought down her hand. Not too long after, they got to and alighted at their bus stop along the Benin - Asaba Expressway, crossed the road, as they made to cross the other side of the dual carriage way, a vehicle driving against the traffic on a high speed ran over the young woman, and she died on the spot. She decided to please man (her boyfriend) instead of her Creator, and to the detriment of her soul.
Anyone who sets out to please men over God will never arrive at a pleasant destination in eternity. There is a call to duty for every believing child of God to live to please the Master in every given circumstance and situation of life.
Would you dare to please God? If it has to be, it's up to you.
PRAYER BULLETS:
LORD Jesus, I desire to please You over men, but I lack the spiritual stamina needed. Help me, O LORD!
FURTHER READING:
Acts 4:13-21; John 12:43; Ephesians 6:6; 2 Timothy 2:4.
