The Scripture used greater to let us know that joy is graded. This means there are levels of joy. There is unspeakable joy, greater joy and definitely lesser joy. There is joy we get when we are blessed. But there is joy the Lord gets when we obey Him. The joy of the Lord is greater than our joy. And we can only make the joy of the Lord a reality when we walk in the truth. The Lord is not just interested in blessing you, He wants us to walk in obedience to His instruction. Living according to the word of the Lord provokes greater joy and endears us to the heart of the Lord. The blessings of the Lord makes us joyful, but our obedience to His word makes Him "joyful". If the Lord must be happy with you, walk in the truth.
