*🕊 DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 14*
* DATE: 14TH JANUARY, 2026*
*TOPIC: HONOURING GOD*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: 1 SAMUEL 15:22 NKJV*
*“Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.”*
*Devotional Message*

Honour to God means giving Him the highest place of respect, value, reverence, and obedience in every area of our lives. It is not merely expressed through our words or public declarations, but through how we live daily. True honour is revealed in our choices, priorities, and our willingness to submit to God’s will even when it is inconvenient.

One of the clearest ways we honour God is by keeping His Word—being doers of what He instructs us to do. In our anchor scripture, King Saul was given a clear instruction by God, yet he chose to act contrary to it in order to please men. As a result, the kingdom was taken away from him and given to David. This same pattern is evident in the lives of many believers today: valuing human approval, image, and acceptance above obedience to God. Consequently, despite making many sacrifices, their lives do not reflect the power and reward of a surrendered walk with God.

Dishonour toward God often begins with dishonour toward His Word, which leads to disobedience. This was evident in the case of Adam and Eve. Had they honoured God’s Word and not allowed the enemy to twist it into mere opinion, they would have overcome the devil. Jesus later showed us the true pattern for victory over temptation—by standing firmly on the Word of God and declaring, “It is written,” not relying on personal reasoning or feelings.

Therefore, to truly honour God, we must rid ourselves of the desire for human applause and instead seek to please God above all else. When we value our relationship with Him more than reputation, popularity, or convenience, obedience becomes our lifestyle—and honour becomes our testimony.

*Prayer*

Father, help me to honour You not only with my lips but with my life. Deliver me from the desire to please men at the expense of obedience to Your Word. Give me a heart that loves Your Word and delights in doing Your will. May my life bring You honour in all that I do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
