*🕊 DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 16*
* DATE: 16TH JANUARY, 2026*
*TOPIC: HONOURING GOD_3*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: 1 CORINTHIANS 6:19–20 NKJV*
*“Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”*
*Devotional Message*

We have already explored two vital ways in which we honour God: first, by keeping His Word, and secondly, through sacrifice. Another crucial way we demonstrate honour to God is through our bodies—by keeping them pure. Our bodies are not ordinary; they are the dwelling place of God’s presence. Apostle Paul reminds us clearly that we are the temple of the Holy Spirit, and because God Himself is holy, He can only dwell in a clean and pure vessel.

To honour God with our bodies means living a life of purity. This includes staying away from adultery for those who are married and fornication for those who are not yet married. Sexual immorality gives access to the enemy and turns what should be God’s dwelling place into a habitation for darkness. As believers, we are called to flee from every appearance of evil and anything that may corrupt the temple of God.

Scripture further instructs us not to touch anything unclean. The Psalmist asks a vital question: “Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? Or who shall stand in His holy place?” The answer is clear—“He who has clean hands and a pure heart.” This reminds us that purity is not optional for those who desire intimacy with God and manifestation of His presence.

The same hands we lift in worship, the same lips we use to praise God, and the same bodies we present before Him must reflect holiness. A life of purity glorifies God and preserves His presence within us. Honouring God with our bodies is a daily decision to live in holiness, discipline, and obedience—set apart for His glory.

*Prayer*
Father, thank You for choosing to dwell in me through Your Holy Spirit. I present my body to You as a living sacrifice—holy and acceptable unto You. Help me to live a life of purity, to flee from all forms of evil, and to honour You with my body and my actions. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
