THE STRONGEST WEAPON EVER
A WORD FROM THE WORD:
"... The LORD reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, 'I have put my words in your mouth. See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.'" Jeremiah 1:9-10 NIV.
The word of God is stronger than the most dangerous weapon of war. The truth of the matter is God’s Word is the most powerful weapon we have to use against the enemy. 'If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.' (John 8:32 ESV) The LORD Jesus said these words to those who had believed in Him. When God puts His word, even in the mouth of a child, it will definitely become obvious, even to sceptics. But the word of God must be clearly understood and rightly applied ‘Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.’ (2 Timothy 2:15 ESV), if not, it would be like a sharp knife in the hand of a toddler, which is capable of endangering the child's well-being.
The word of God on its own is stronger than the strongest weapon you can ever think of, ‘For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.’ (Hebrews 4:12-13 NKJV), but if you want it to work for you, you must appropriate it personally. This should be done with faith and in obedience to God.
PRAYER BULLETS:
Father LORD, thank You for Your Word. Give me the grace to take advantage of Your Word for my walk and work with You, for the benefit of humanity, and ultimately, to Your glory.
FURTHER READING:
James 1:1-27; 2 Peter 1:3-4.
