"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not the result of works, so that no one may boast" (Eph. 2:8-9). Paul explained that our salvation is a call to a holy life, not because we have done anything good but an act of God's grace. With this understanding, he was willing to suffer for Christ, serve, and proclaim the gospel without feeling shame. It is not encouraging to see believers boast when God elevates them. You are elevated to serve and fulfil God's purpose. Are you a Chairman, CEO, Governor, President, "Anointed" Man-of-God, or a wealthy person? Do not boast or abuse your position because your attainment is by God's grace. *REFLECTION:* Maximize God's grace to serve. *PRAYER:* Father, thank You for the grace to serve. Tozer O Son of God, where else can we go but to You? You have the words of eternal life! You have redeemed us by Your blood, and You won’t turn us away when we come to You. Grant us now an evening blessing. We haven’t followed You perfectly as we promised to do this morning. We’ve wandered from Your ways like lost sheep. We don’t want to go to bed until we’ve received Your forgiveness. Since You died for us, we come boldly to Your throne of grace to ask for the forgiveness of all our sins. O Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. We thank You for Your care, which has been so constant and faithful today. We’ve moved through unseen dangers, with no power to protect ourselves—and You have protected us. We’ve walked on paths we didn’t know—and You’ve led us. We’ve carried burdens that were too heavy for us—and You’ve sustained us. We’ve faced problems we couldn’t solve—and You’ve given us wisdom. For the blessings of Your providence, we thank You. For the love and grace we’ve received from Your word and through Your Spirit, we thank You. We lay the work of the day at Your feet. What is stained with sin, please cleanse. Correct our mistakes so they don’t mar our work or harm others. Whatever You can use from the work of our hands, may You use it for Your glory. Receive us now into Your care for the night. Lay Your hand on us in blessing and keep us through the night. Refresh us with sleep and prepare us for a new day. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ.
