*āAnd the priest shall go out of the camp, and the priest shall examine himā¦ā ā Leviticus 14:3*
*āFor the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.ā ā Luke 19:10*
*Devotional Message*
In Leviticus 14, we observe that those who had leprosy were not permitted to come into the camp of the clean. Instead, the priest was the one who went out to them, examined them, and if they were found to be unclean, they were isolated until the day they were made clean. This divine arrangement reveals a powerful truth about the mission of Christ and the Gospel.
Jesus did not come for the righteous, but for the lostāthose already sick in sin. As the Great Physician, He came to heal, restore, and redeem. The Gospel, therefore, is not primarily for those who already know Christ, but for sinners who are still outside the camp, waiting to hear the message that brings life.
There are many people in the world today who have never truly heard the Gospel. They are waitingāconsciously or unconsciouslyāfor someone to reach them. Just as the priests went to the lepers, we who have been made kings and priests in Christ must go to the lost with the message of salvation. The Gospel will not spread by waiting; it spreads by going.
This also teaches us that we are not called to church-to-church evangelism, persuading believers to move from one congregation to another. The priest did not go to those who were already clean. Godās heart has always been for the lost, the broken, and the spiritually sick. He revealed Himself as Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals, and in the New Testament, He declares His desire that all men be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.
When we speak life to the lostādeclaring the love of the Father and the finished work of ChristāGod adds to the Church. The growth of the Church is not manufactured; it is a result of believers arising to manifest Christ by reaching the lost with the Gospel and its Him that Convicts them to surrender their life to Him.
*Prayer*
Father, thank You for calling us out of darkness and making us priests unto You. Give us a burden for the lost and boldness to go where You send us. Help us to speak life, love, and truth to those who are still outside the camp. Use us as vessels through whom You will draw many to salvation. In Jesusā name, Amen.
