THE POWER OF JOY IN THE CHRISTIAN LIFE

A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"Rejoice evermore." 1 Thessalonians 5:16 KJV.

To 'rejoice evermore' comes with the understanding of, always being thankful and joyful with and what God has wrought in your life. This is so important that the Holy Spirit inspired Paul, the apostle, the human author of the epistle to the churches in Thessaloniki and to all believers by extension to make it to stand out. You should as a matter of lifestyle cultivate the habit of appreciation and being joyful all the time, it might be difficult, but not impossible with God's help. It's no wonder the Scripture says 'A merry heart does good like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bone.' (Proverbs 17:22 NKJV).  A merry or joyful heart is actually more effective than taking medications when you are ill, depressed or dis-eased. Do you understand this?

In a merry heart, there's no space for sorrow, so put sorrow away from your life. ‘Then he said unto them, go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions to them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of our LORD is your strength.’ (Nehemiah 8:10 KJV).

Rejoice evermore. This is the best recommendation for you in any given situation.

PRAYER BULLETS:

LORD Jesus, I ask for Your enabling grace to rejoice evermore. I prefer it to the best medicine the best of the world's scientists can offer.

FURTHER READING:

Nehemiah 8: 1-12; Psalm 13:5-6; Philippians 4:4; Zephaniah 3:17.
