*🕊 DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 24*
* DATE: 24TH JANUARY, 2026*
*TOPIC: COME TO HIM WITH AN OPEN MIND*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: PROVERBS 3:5–6 (NKJV)*
*“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”*
*Devotional Message*

Yesterday, by the help of the Holy Spirit, we established that it is impossible to hear and recognize the voice of God without intimacy with Him. When one is not a person of the presence, the many voices around will easily lead to confusion.

Another major hindrance to hearing God—despite the fact that He is always speaking—is a closed mind. Many believers approach God having already made conclusions in their hearts. Their decisions are already settled, and even when God speaks, they are unable to hear anything that contradicts what they have already decided.

If we must hear God, then we must come to Him with an open mind, desiring to listen to what He says, willing to receive His word and act on it. Hearing God is not just about receiving information; it is about yielding to His direction.

True trust in God requires approaching Him with a yielded heart, fully willing to follow whatever direction He gives. David gives us a powerful example. When Ziklag was burned and his city destroyed, David and his men could have pursued the enemy immediately out of emotion and pressure. Yet David acknowledged his insufficiency and inquired of the Lord.

After God assured him of victory, David still went further to inquire about the strategy he should use. That posture of humility, dependence, and obedience gave him clarity, strength, and complete victory.

This is how we are called to live—trusting God wholeheartedly, inquiring of Him in every matter, and refusing to conclude until we have listened to His voice. When we approach God with pre-made conclusions, we block His guidance. But when we come with open hearts and obedient spirits, God faithfully directs our steps.

*Prayer*

Heavenly Father, I acknowledge that without You I can do nothing. Forgive me for the times I have approached You with a closed mind and pre-made conclusions. Today, I come before You with an open heart, ready to listen, receive, and obey Your voice. Teach me to trust You fully and to wait for Your direction before concluding any matter. Lead me in Your perfect will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
