THE HUMILITY AND CONTENTMENT OF MOSES
"(Now the man Moses was very humble, more than all men who were on the face of the earth.)" Numbers 12:3 NKJV.
When God's hand comes upon the life of a man for the purpose of discipleship, that life must learn humility and contentment among other things. Moses was a classical example; he left the trappings royalty in Egypt for the purpose of discipleship by God under the human watch of Jethro who would later become his father-in-law (even though what God was doing to him and with his life was not known to him at the initial stage).
This was a man who never did menial chores in his entire life whilst in Egypt by the virtue of he being of royalty; the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. But he was humble enough to learn how to hew firewood, draw water from the well and also learned how to shepherd the flock of his discipler, Jethro, and it was never recorded anywhere in the Bible that he complained. The process of ‘royal stripping’ was at work in him. Truth remains that anyone who desires or aspires to amount to anything whatsoever in God's hand must need to pass through this same or similar process.
In the final analysis it became obvious that the hand of God was upon him for good as he was prepared by God through the instrumentality of Jethro's hand to lead Israel out of Egypt. Let's all be ready to avail our lives to be trained by God in order to meet the minimum qualifications to be fit for use by Him.
Are you ready?
PRAYER BULLETS:
ABBA Father, I desire to be trained and used by You, strip out of me all the traces of worldliness; and make me fit to be used, humble and rich with contentment.
FURTHER READING:
Proverbs 3:5-7; Hebrews 11:23-28; Acts 7:22-36; Zechariah 4:6.
