Good evening, brethren.

1. Evening devotional for today.

*DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

*DATE:*
SATURDAY, 24TH JANUARY, 2026.

*SUB-THEME:*
THE AMAZING GRACE OF GOD.

*TOPIC:*
GRACE PROMPTS REPENTANCE.

*TEXT:*
ZECHARIAH 12:1-10.
1 A declaration: a message from the LORD to Israel. “The LORD, who stretches out the heavens, who lays the foundation of the earth, and who frames the spirit of man within himself, declares,
2 ‘Look, I am making Jerusalem an unstable cup toward all of its surrounding armies when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem.
3 It will come about at that time that I will make Jerusalem a heavy weight; so everyone who burdens themselves with it will be crushed, even though all of the nations of the earth gather themselves against it. [Isa 41:11] [Mat 21:44] [Luk 20:18]
4 At that time,’ declares the LORD, ‘I will strike every horse with panic and every rider with insanity. I will keep My eyes on the house of Judah, but I will blind every horse of the invading armies.
5 The leaders of Judah will say to themselves, “Those who live in Jerusalem are my strength through the LORD of the Heavenly Armies, their God.”
6 ‘At that time, I will make the leaders of Judah like a brazier filled with blazing wood, or like a torch setting fire to harvested grain. They will devour all the invading armies, both on the right hand and on the left. As a result, Jerusalem will again be inhabited in its rightful place—as the real Jerusalem.’”
7 The LORD will deliver the tents of Judah first, so that neither the glory of the house of David nor the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem overshadows Judah.
8 At that time, the LORD will defend those who live in Jerusalem, and the one who is feeble among them at that time will be like David. The entire house of David will be like God—indeed, like the angel of the LORD in their midst!
9 “‘At that time, I will search out and destroy all of the nations who have come against Jerusalem.
10 I will pour out on the house of David and on the residents of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and of supplications, and they will look to Me—the one whom they pierced.’

*TOPIC:*
GRACE PROMPTS REPENTANCE.

*THE MESSAGE:*
Today's text presents a powerful message about God's amazing grace and its role in bringing people to repentance. It speaks of a future time when God will pour out His Spirit on the people, resulting in deep mourning and repentance. it will be a moment of profound transformation, where the realization of God's grace leads individuals to recognize their need for reconciliation. Grace is not a license to sin but rather an empowerment to turn away from it (Rom.2:4). Unfortunately, some people abused the grace of God, and defied all possible occasions or circumstances that would have prompted repentance.
Are you one of them?
Do not delay. Come to Jesus today while there is still time.

*REFLECTION:*
God forgives those who repent.

*PRAYER:*
Father, forgive me my sin, in Jesus' name. Amen.

*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
EPHESIANS 2:8-9.
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast."

*TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
EXODUS 16-17.

2. Evening Prayer

When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? ⏤ Psalm 8:3-4

God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world. ⏤ C.S. Lewis

We thank You, our Father, for the wonders of the universe that night reveals. We couldn't see the stars while it was day; they were hidden in the brightness of the light. But when the sun went down, all these glories appeared. All these are Your works, O God. It comforts us to remember that our Father made all these marvelous things. Surely You are able to take care of us, Your little children.

We also thank You for the blessings that other nights reveal. You have a thousand comforts in Your love that we don't see while the sun of prosperity shines. It's only when we have some trouble that we begin to understand the meaning of Your promises. It's only when we lose human friends that we find You as the Friend of friends. It's only when we lose earthly treasures that we begin to value the invisible treasures of Your grace. So we thank You for every loss that has revealed a gain and a blessing. We thank You for every sorrow that has made You more real to us. We thank You for the hard paths that have made us trust more fully in You. We thank You for the darkening of day that has brought out the stars of hope in our night. Help us always to believe that when You take away one blessing, You give us another that is even better.

We ask now that You will make all this day's experiences work for our good. Bless us as a family, and give each of us a personal blessing. Hold us in the arms of Your love while we sleep, and let no evil befall us. Shelter all our loved ones and hear their prayers. Bring us all home at last, through Your love, to the sinless world with You, for Jesus' sake. Amen.
