AVOID THE CROWD
A WORD FROM THE WORD:
"You shall not follow a crowd to do evil; nor shall you testify in a dispute so as to turn aside after many to pervert justice." Exodus 23:2 NIV.
For almost everything written in the Bible, there are principles and practices. Therefore, when it comes to spiritual matters, both are applicable, but the principles, more than the practices.
You should be very careful of the crowd, as their yearnings and aspirations are more often than not contrary to the demands of Heaven upon your life, and often vitiates from the Truth. The LORD God commanded the children of Israel to ensure they don't play to the gallery, pleasing the crowd and end up perverting justice.
The LORD Jesus, who is the Truth personified, would often leave the crowd behind, because He knows them well; the crowd of the LORD Jesus' days were what one would call members of a ‘rent-a-crowd’ company today. Anyone with the right price can access their services, either for good or bad. The crowd (it is believed) that hailed the LORD Jesus during His Triumphant entry into Jerusalem was the same that called for His crucifixion just a few days apart. You don't want to be a part of that kind of assemblage.
Always stand for the Truth, and avoid the influence and subterfuge of the crowd no matter at what cost, even if you have to stand alone.
PRAYER BULLETS:
Father LORD, help me to always avoid the influence of the crowd, and stand for Truth without minding whatever it might cost me.
FURTHER READING:
Colossians 2:8; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 5:1; 2 Timothy 2:19.
