*đ DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 29*
* DATE: 29TH JANUARY, 2026*
*TOPIC: WHEN EVERYTHING IS TOUCHED, WILL YOU STILL HOLD ON?*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: JOB 1:9â11 (NKJV)*
*âSo Satan answered the Lord and said, âDoes Job fear God for nothing? ⊠But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!ââ*
*Devotional Message*
What is that one thing in your lifeâor around youâthat if it were touched, you would renounce God? Is it your health, family, wealth, position, job, ministry, or business?
Satan believed that if Jobâs possessions were touched, he would renounce God. When that failed, he thought touching Jobâs children would break him. When that too failed, he went after Jobâs health. Yet in all this, Job did not renounce God, because his relationship with God was not built on what God gave him, but on who God was to him.
Even when Jobâs wifeâhis closest companionâbecame a mouthpiece of discouragement and asked him to curse God and die, Job responded with spiritual maturity: âShall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?â Job had already settled in his heart that God was worthy of worship in both abundance and adversity.
Child of God, this calls for self-examination. If there is anything in your life that, once touched, would shake your faith and make you turn away from God, then that thing has become a god in your life. The enemy uses such attachments as entry points to pull believers down.
Many desire the things God gives more than they desire God Himself. That is why their relationship with Him remains weak, transactional, and easily shaken. When trials come, they bow to the devilâs offers because they never fully surrendered their hearts to God.
True strength to stand in adversity is birthed from deep fellowship and communion with Godâa relationship cultivated through prayer, the Word, and intimacy. This is why Apostle Paul prayed, âThat I may know Him and the power of His resurrectionâânot first for provision, but for relationship. Needs are secondary; knowing God is primary.
When you have dealt with every rival in your heart, you can boldly say, like Jesus, âThe ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me.â When your trust is fully in God and not in what He offers, the devil loses every foothold.
*Prayer*
Father, search my heart and reveal anything that competes with You in my life. I repent of every attachment that has taken Your place. Help me to love You for who You are, not just for what You give. Strengthen my faith to stand firm even in adversity. May the enemy find nothing in me to use against my devotion to You. I choose You above all else. In Jesusâ name, Amen.
