Good morning, brethren.

1. Morning devotional for today.

MORNING TEA. THE WORD FOR TODAY
THURSDAY, JANUARY 29, 2026.
"THE GRACE TO HANDLE IT"
ā€˜He will empower you with inner strength.’ Ephesians 3:16 NLT

FOR FIFTEEN years Dr Robert Schuller’s secretary Lois battled cancer, and for every one of them, she served God faithfully. Schuller writes: ā€˜I don’t think I ever met anyone more courageous. Some days, she was so ill…getting out of bed took all the strength she had! She’d deliberately fall out of bed, walk on her hands and knees to the bathroom, reach for the sink and pull herself up. She’d force herself to get dressed, stumble into the kitchen, drink some water, eat a dry piece of toast, search for her purse, and walk to the door. Perspiration pouring off her forehead, she’d look at her husband and say, ā€˜ā€˜Well, Ralph, I think I can make it now.’’ Then she’d get into her car and drive to church. She was always there before me, and when I arrived with my usual greeting, ā€˜ā€˜Good morning, how are you?’’ she’d always smile and say, ā€˜ā€˜Great!’’ I never knew until after her funeral what she went through…Only God can give you that kind of courage.’ The Bible says, ā€˜From his…unlimited resources Bwambale Gilbert will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.’ There are many ways to say it, but none more eloquent than the hymnist Annie Johnson Flint, who put it like this: ā€˜When we have exhausted our store of endurance; when our strength has failed ere the day is half-done; When we reach the end of our hoarded resources our Father’s full giving has only begun. His love has no limit…His grace has no measure…His power no boundary known unto men. For out of His infinite riches in Jesus, He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.’

2. Morning Prayer for today.

Morning Prayer

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ā¤ 2 Corinthians 12:9

Grace is but glory begun, and glory is but grace perfected. ā¤ Jonathan Edwards

O God, our Father, we, Your children, come to You for a blessing. Just as the earth needs the sun and rain from Heaven—so do our lives need Your grace, love, and life. We cannot live without You. Without blessings from You—our souls would die. Pour upon us Your grace and love as we bow at Your feet.

We have duties to fulfill today, and we need wisdom to do them well. Please bestow upon us the grace that will prepare us for whatever You have planned for us. Help us to live together as a family in a way that honors You. Deepen our love for each other, and help us to be patient and kind in all our interactions. Help us to love like You do. Fill our hearts with Your love—then we will love truly. Destroy all selfishness in us and give us the mind of Christ Jesus. Help us to bear one another's burdens and to be patient with one another. Make our home more and more like Heaven. May we do Your will here as it is done in Heaven. May our love be like Heaven's love in its purity, tenderness, sincerity, and fellowship.

Give us the grace to help each other grow spiritually, to make each other holier, and to encourage each other to love and good works. May we be a means of grace to one another. This morning, we open our hearts to the Holy Spirit, that we may receive a new baptism of love as we go out for the day. Keep us from falling along the difficult way. Let no harm come to us. Shield us from temptation—or strengthen us to resist it. Bring us all home safely at nightfall when the day is done. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
