THE BEST IS YET TO COME
A WORD FROM THE WORD:
“Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.” John 2:10, NIV
When the LORD Jesus went to a wedding celebration in Cana of Galilee with His disciples, the celebration lasted several days. Everything was going on well until they 'suddenly' ran out of wine. Up to that point, the LORD Jesus had not performed any public miracle, but after some sort of intrusion and persuasions from His mother, who was also in attendance, He instructed the servants there to fill the six water pots of stone with water. Just imagine what they attendants and even some guests must have been filled with the thought, 'Of what benefit is that going to be?' But when the attendants drew up the (water turned) wine, at the LORD Jesus' instruction and took same to the master of the ceremony, who when he tasted it, said to the bridegroom '....you have kept the good wine until now.' (John 2:10 ESV)
Did you notice the lesson God worked out with what happened? If they had not run out of the good wine, there may never have been an opportunity to taste the best wine by the guests. God saves the best for the last for His children. You may be at your wits end or have the feeling of running out of opportunities or running out of the resources to make ends meet. Well, this might seem an oddity, but you’re in a proper place as a child of God for His miraculous. At this point, when you come to the end, God steps in and says to you, 'I’ve saved the best for the last, enjoy.'
The best position, the best relationships, the best in your finances, the best in your health is yet to come.
PRAYER BULLETS:
ABBA Father, thank You for Your peace that permeates me when it feels like I’m running out of something that’s important to me.
Thank You for saving the best for me for the last. Help me to be faithful and look forward to Your very best.
FURTHER READING:
John 2:1-11; Hebrews 8:6; 1 Corinthians 13:12; Acts 16:25-27.
