*🕊 DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 31*
* DATE: 31ST JANUARY, 2026*
*TOPIC: EXAMINE MY HEART, LORD*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: JEREMIAH 17:10 (NKJV)*
*“I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.”*
*Devotional Message*
The heart of man is deeply complex and desperately wicked, beyond human understanding. Only God truly knows the depths of the human heart. Many believers assume they are humble, loving, generous, forgiving, or strong—until life, promotion, pressure, wealth, offense, or temptation exposes what was truly hidden within.
You will never know you are proud until God lifts you up.You will never know you are selfish until abundance comes.You will never know immorality dwells in your heart until the opportunity presents itself.You will never know unforgiveness is lodged within until you are deeply offended.
That is why David continually cried to God, “Search me, O God.” He understood that spiritual safety does not come from self-confidence but from divine examination. God must expose and uproot what we cannot see in ourselves.
Hazael never imagined he would become a cruel king until God revealed his future to Elisha. Peter believed he could never deny Jesus until fear tested him. The elder brother of the prodigal son never knew jealousy ruled his heart until celebration exposed it. These were not sudden failures—they were revelations of what already existed within.
Scripture reminds us that as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. It is not our lips that define us, but our hearts. Many deceive others with words, but God looks beyond appearances and examines motives, intentions, and desires.
Child of God, never trust your own assessment of your heart. Make it a daily prayer for God to search you, reveal hidden wickedness, uproot pride, jealousy, lust, bitterness, and selfish ambition—and create within you a clean, pure, and contrite heart that pleases Him.
*Prayer*
Father, in the name of Jesus, I surrender my heart before You. Search me, O God, and know my heart. Expose every hidden wickedness, pride, jealousy, lust, bitterness, and selfish desire that does not glorify You. Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me. Purge me until my heart reflects Christ. I choose brokenness, humility, and obedience over self-deception. Let my heart be a dwelling place of Your holiness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
