* DATE: 1ST FEBRUARY, 2026*
*TOPIC: THE SPIRIT OF STAGNATION (PART 1)*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURES: JOB 3:25 (NKJV)*
*– ā€œFor the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, and what I dreaded has happened to me.ā€*
*Devotional Message*

Stagnation is a state where there is no progress or growth in any area of life—whether spiritual, business, ministry, career, family, or personal development. It is being confined in one position for a prolonged period without advancement. Our God is a God of progress, increase, and forward movement. Therefore, stagnation does not originate from God but from the enemy.

The devil operates through legal grounds. Just like in a courtroom, he cannot execute judgment without evidence. Before afflicting a believer, a family, a ministry, or a business, Satan looks for access points—grounds that permit him to operate. One clear symptom that judgment has been executed is stagnation.

One of the strongest legal grounds the enemy uses is fear. The apostle Paul clearly teaches that fear does not come from God. Fear cripples initiative, paralyzes faith, and restrains people from taking bold and strategic steps. Job confessed that what he feared came upon him, revealing that fear opened a door.

Many believers remain stuck—not because God has not spoken, but because fear has silenced obedience. Fear of failure, fear of people’s opinions, fear of the unknown, fear of loss—these have kept many from advancing into business, marriage, ministry, career growth, and spiritual maturity.

Stagnation thrives where fear is tolerated. It often disguises itself as comfort, familiarity, or waiting, when in reality God is calling us to break camp and advance. Scripture rebukes those who, by now, ought to be teachers but remain immature. Growth requires movement, and movement requires courage.

Just like the four lepers who took a step despite uncertainty, God only amplifies movement when we act in faith. Once fear is identified as the legal ground, the cure is intentional obedience—taking bold steps, praying against fear, and refusing to settle for less than God’s purpose.

*Prayer*

Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You because You are a God of progress and advancement. Today, I repent of every place where fear has ruled my heart and limited my obedience. I renounce the spirit of fear and every legal ground it has given the enemy in my life. I receive power, love, and a sound mind. I declare that I will take bold steps of faith in every area where I have been stagnant. By Your Spirit, lead me forward into growth, maturity, and destiny fulfillment. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
