Good morning, brethren. 1. Morning devotional for today. i. 😀🌹🎀🎁💝🌺 MORNING TEA. THE WORD FOR TODAY. THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 2026. "THE BARRIERS ARE IN YOUR MIND" ‘…He has sent me to proclaim freedom…recovery…release…favour.’ Luke 4:18-19 NIV JESUS SAID that He came to bring freedom to those held captive by destructive habits, to give sight to those who are spiritually blind, to lift up those who’ve been put down, and to announce that the time of God’s favour toward us has come. If you look closely at ancient maritime maps you will see places which are marked with pictures of dragons. Sailors who explored the world wouldn’t go there. Were the dragons real? No, but they were real in the minds of the sailors. Picture a barracuda in a big tank at Sea World in Florida. A glass barrier divides one half from the other. Each time the barracuda tries to swim from one end of the tank to the other, he bumps into it. And here’s an interesting thing: even when the barrier’s taken away, the barracuda still won’t swim beyond that point. Why? Because the barrier is in his mind! Satan will place barriers in your mind and say you can’t go beyond a certain point in life; you can’t dream beyond it, or reach beyond it. Don’t believe him! Jesus said satan is a liar and the father of lies. But a lie is as effective as the truth if you believe it and act on it. With God there are no limits, just unlimited power. The Bible is filled with stories of little people, limited people, lack-lustre people, and, in some cases, low-life people who penetrated the barriers beyond which they thought they couldn’t go, and God used them to do amazing things. THE NEW LIFESTYLE "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new is here!" - 2 Corinthians 5:17 If you are in Christ, the new creation has come, so you have a new lifestyle. The old lifestyle is no longer there: it is dead and should not be a part of you anymore. No condemnation It is a great privilege and miracle that your sins are forgiven, and you are able to stand right before the living God. In the old lifestyle you could not, because there was sin and fear. In this new life your conscience is completely cleansed. Your criminal records have been erased by the blood of Jesus. In the past, I could not appear before God because my old criminal records showed all the bad things I did, but now there is no more sin that condemns me. 'Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus' (Romans 8:1). Your prosecutor, the evil one, wants to tell you that your old sin still exists, but in Jesus there is no condemnation. The formula for a happy life To help you live this new lifestyle, I am giving you a formula consisting of three things. They will help you lead a happy life. If you apply them consistently and daily in your life, they will encourage and strengthen your spiritual life. It is easy to incorporate these three things in your daily life. It should be just as obvious as brushing your teeth or combing your hair every day. It is important to do them daily. 1) Speak to God every day; 2) Allow God to speak to you every day; 3) Talk about God to others every day. We thank You that it brings us the very counsel of Your will. May it be a lamp to our feet and a light to our path as we go forth today. May its truth shine within us, showing us Your will, what Your thoughts concerning us are, and what You would have us do. We thank You for this heavenly light You have given us. Without it, we could never find our way through the tangled paths of life. Without it, we wouldn’t know that You love us, think about us, or that You are indeed our Father. Help us to receive Your word with meekness and humility. Help us to walk in the way You have made clear to us. We ask You to fill us with Your love as we begin this day, so that wherever we go, we may carry something of the light of Your presence. We have no light of our own. We ask You to give us Your grace, to fill our lamps so that they may burn brightly all day. We don’t want to be in darkness in this world—we want to shine as lights, and we will shine if we have Your grace in us. Fill us with Your blessed light. We yearn to be blessings to each other today, and to everyone we meet. Give us something to share with others—something of Your love and grace. Lay Your hand upon us and give us a Father’s blessing, first for ourselves, and then to share with our neighbors and friends. Keep us all from evil. Let us not willfully sin against You today. Help us to be faithful in all our ways. Bring us all together in the evening, when our work is done, if it be Your will. We ask these favors in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
