*🕊 DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 36*
* DATE: 5TH FEBRUARY, 2026*
*TOPIC: THE SPIRIT OF STAGNATION (PART 5)*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: 1 SAMUEL 17:28–29, 45 NKJV*
*28 Now Eliab his oldest brother heard when he spoke to the men; and Eliab’s anger was aroused against David, and he said, “Why did you come down here? And with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride and the insolence of your heart, for you have come down to see the battle.”29 And David said, “What have I done now? Is there not a cause?”45 Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.”*
*Devotional Message*

We have been exploring the legal grounds the devil uses to keep people stuck—confined in one place for a long time. Yesterday, by the help of God, we discovered that comfort is an enemy of God-given dreams. Today, we look at another major tool the enemy uses: people—specifically sympathizers and discouragers.

Every believer carries a God-given dream, but entering into that dream comes with a price. Growth demands sacrifice, and advancement often involves pain. Even when the process feels difficult, God releases grace to endure—so that you may enter the next level He has prepared for you.

Sympathizers are people who genuinely care about you—parents, siblings, friends—but they may not understand what God is doing in your life. If you yield to their emotional comfort at the expense of obedience, stagnation becomes inevitable. Some decisions required for growth may appear harsh, but they are necessary for destiny fulfillment.

The second group is discouragers—those who failed to break out, who never moved forward, and now believe no one else can. The enemy uses their words to plant doubt. Though they speak from experience, they overlook one truth: with God, all things are possible. Alone, you may fail—but you and the Holy Spirit can never fail.

David encountered discouragers—including his own brothers and fearful soldiers. Had he listened to them, he would never have killed Goliath nor stepped into his destiny. Instead, David trusted God and declared, “You come to me with a sword and a spear, but I come to you in the name of the Lord.”

Child of God, breaking out of confinement requires rising in the name of the Lord. Refuse to yield to sympathizers who mean well but hinder progress, and reject discouragers who project their failures onto you. Your journey is different. Your God is faithful. Choose obedience over comfort, faith over fear, and movement over stagnation.

*Prayer*

Father, I thank You for the dream You placed within me. Grant me discernment to recognize sympathizers and discouragers who hinder my progress. Give me courage to obey You even when it is uncomfortable. I choose to trust You completely and move forward in the power of the Holy Spirit. Break every limitation and lead me into the fullness of my destiny, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
