ENGAGE IN KINGDOM BUSINESS
A WORD FROM THE WORD:
".....A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return. So he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten minas, and said to them, ‘Do business till I come.’" Luke 19:13 NKJV.
In the context of our anchor Scripture, Luke, the physician, inspired by the Holy Spirit gives the narrative of the LORD Jesus' parable of the talents about how 'a certain noble man went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return.' In conveying this spiritual truth in a more memorable and relatable way, it should be made to be understood that the LORD Jesus Himself happens to be the noble man in the parable and that He is speaking about the period between His resurrection from the death and second coming.
He encourages us to use God's gifts to us very well. We need to examine how we engage in the Kingdom business. The LORD Jesus, after His resurrection, He made several appearances to His disciples, we had the last of such before His ascension to Heaven, where He gave the disciples His last wishes: 'And then he told them, "Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone."' (Mark 16:15 NLT). This assignment is meant for every believer in Christ Jesus, not just for the five-fold ministers. It is a mandate for all who have believed in, and received Jesus as LORD and personal Saviour. It does not necessarily require having access to pulpits to preach to congregations, but everywhere you are opportune as a believer to speak to a non-believer in Christ Jesus is a pulpit and a congregation. Every time, talent, treasure, your temple, and even technology available to you is primarily a gift of God, first and foremost for the propagation of the Gospel.
The power for the assignment to engage in the Kingdom business has also been availed (v 17; Philippians 4:13). Having all things available, you are inexcusable to 'Do the business till I come.' Begin now from your Jerusalem.
PRAYER BULLETS:
LORD Jesus, thank You for the privilege of Your salvation. Open the eyes of my mind to see the perishing souls around me, and engrace me to continue to do business till You come.
FURTHER READING:
Luke 19:11-27; Mark 16:14-20; 1 Corinthians 9:16-23; Matthew 25:14-30.
