Good morning, brethren.

1. Morning devotion for today.
i. MORNING TEA. THE WORD FOR TODAY
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 2026.
"WALKING IN TRUTH (2)"
ā€˜ā€¦I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me.’ Romans 7:21 NIV

UNLESS YOU make truthfulness a priority, there’s an actual ā€˜law at work’ which dictates that even when you ā€˜want to do good, evil is right there’. That means our natural ā€˜default’ setting (the one automatically selected by our internal computer unless we deliberately choose another option) is always set toward a lower standard. One author writes: ā€˜I lived in Atlanta…there’s a vine there called kudzu…and once it creeps onto your tree or fence, if you don’t kill it immediately, it’ll overtake your entire property. Any deception…subtle omission…telling a tiny white lie…is like planting a kudzu seed in the garden of your heart… For me it’s a slippery slope, like taking a side route on an unmarked path, thinking I’ve found a shortcut. I get sloppy…lazy…then I get lost. I let one infraction of integrity slide without correction. I feel the tug of the Holy Spirit, but I shrug it off and stay busy…and I’ve taken the first step into shadow-living… Tiny lies are like snowballs rolling downhill…they’re sticky, and they get bigger fast! How do we stay in truth when the potential resides in us to compromise? First: we must recommit to our walk with God every morning before we do anything else. We do that through prayer and reading the Scriptures. By doing this we’re choosing light over darkness while it’s still too early to mess up. Second: we must align ourselves with the promptings of the Spirit. This is a highly personal thing which grows in direct proportion to our time and devotion to our walk with God.’

ii. GOD'S UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

"I will heal their apostasy and faithlessness; I will love them freely for My anger has turned away from Israel." - Hosea 14:5

The only way God can love us is by loving us unconditionally. He could love angels because they are good, but God could never love us for this reason because we are not good.

A voluntary gift

God's love flows to everybody while we do not deserve this at all. The word voluntary is used when something is given without expecting anything back. When you give voluntarily you cannot negotiate for anything. It is a voluntary gift or donation. You freely give to the poor and understand that they cannot give anything back. When you give freely you do not expect compensation for what you have given away. The Lord Jesus also says: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'

God demonstrated His voluntary love to us by giving His only Son, Jesus Christ, to the world. God gave out of love. He says: 'I will love you despite your sins, shortcomings and mistakes.'

Unconditional

Man often gives to a person he or she thinks is worthy to receive the gift. The voluntary love of God is unconditionally given to man who is not worthy, who does not deserve it at all. God also loves His enemies. While we were still enemies of God because of our sins, God already loved us and gave His Son for us. Man can only look for God because of this voluntary love. God does not love us because we first sought Him: God's love is unconditional and was there even before the world was created. God's grace is a gift and God wants to give you this.

If you are proud and think that you do not need God's grace, then God's love cannot reach you. But if you humble yourself and say: 'Forgive me, Lord, I need Your forgiveness', God will be waiting with open arms to forgive all your sins.

2. Morning Prayer for today.

i. Morning Prayer

To the chief Musician on Neginoth, A Psalm [or] Song. God be merciful unto us, and bless us; [and] cause his face to shine upon us; Selah. ā¤ Psalm 67:1

Wherever God rules over the human heart as King, there is the kingdom of God established. ā¤ Paul Washer

O God, our Father, as we begin this Sunday, we look to You for a blessing. Just as the earth opens its eyes to the sun, whose beams pour down in brightness upon fields and forests, so do we open our eyes to You this morning. May the gracious beams of Your love shine upon us. Then our hearts will rejoice, for if we have Your favor, we truly live.

Fill us with Your Spirit, and may all our thoughts, feelings, and desires be sweetened by Your presence. Sanctify to us all the privileges we will enjoy today. May our rest be undisturbed by anything worldly that might disrupt its peace. As we wait upon You, may our strength be renewed. May Your word, which we will hear today, be richly blessed to us. May its teachings be clear, and may we receive them into good and honest hearts, where they can bring forth fruit.

Let Your blessing be upon all who will minister in the churches today, leading worship and preaching to Your people. May they be in the Spirit, and may their words be filled with the Spirit. Make them holy, with clean hands and pure hearts. Give them the right motives as they minister in Your name.

Let Your blessing be upon all the congregations that will gather for worship today. May all hearts be open to the influence of the Holy Spirit. Enter every open heart, and by Your loving persuasion, win over those whose hearts have been closed to You. So may Your kingdom come, and Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. We ask for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
