Last night, I attended a worship service while millions of people worldwide watched the Super Bowl. Exhausted from an overnight train ride, I went to bed early. However, I couldn’t resist watching the first few minutes of the “All-American Halftime Show” on YouTube. This morning, I was delighted to discover the new lyrics Kid Rock added to his closing number. While critics may argue that Bad Bunny’s performance drew more viewers, it’s important to remember that worldly popularity holds no significance in the afterlife. Even Jesus had many followers that turned away when He make challenging statements like “…unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.” (John 6:53) Being in God’s will often means choosing less popular options.
