GOD'S SOVEREIGNTY OVER CREATION
A WORD FROM THE WORD:
"The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him." Psalm 24:1 NLT.
The earth belongs to God because He created the earth and everything in it. For you, the child of God, the knowledge and understanding that God, you heavenly Father, is the owner of the earth can make a whole lot of difference in your life because it gives you the wisdom for handling everything you possess, including your life. It is wisdom to know and accept that God owns everything on earth; therefore you are a steward and not the owner of anything in your possession. 'For all the animals of the forest are mine, and I own the cattle on a thousand hills.' (Psalm 50:10 NLT).
John the Baptist while bringing clarity to some of his disciples, who in a discussion with a Jew over purification pointed out that the LORD Jesus was baptising people also, says, 'A person cannot receive even one thing unless it is given him from heaven' (John 3:27 ESV). It is wisdom to know that the world doesn't belong to the Devil. The Devil indeed exercises some authority and right over ignorant people, but the earth is the LORD’s, not the Devil's. So as a believer you can refuse the intrusion and claims of the Devil over your life and everything that God has given to you because he doesn't own you. When you realise and do this, you become a victor in life and service to God and humanity.
When you come to the full realisation and understanding that the earth and all its fullness belongs to the LORD, it turns you into a good steward, which is humbling. Resign the ownership of your possessions today and see the LORD Jesus furnish your life with more good things. It is the will of God that you, as a steward of God's grace manage all things in your possession, time, talents, treasure and your temple wisely, and to His glory.
PRAYER BULLETS:
LORD Jesus, today, by Your mercy, I receive grace to be a steward in deed. May Your integrity preserve me.
