*🕊 DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 44*
*DATE: 13TH FEBRUARY 2026*
*TOPIC: IS JESUS IN YOUR BOAT?*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: Mark 6:51 NKJV*
*Then He went up into the boat to them, and the wind ceased. And they were greatly amazed in themselves beyond measure, and marveled.*
*Devotional Message*
Anything you begin with Jesus must be sustained with Jesus. If He was the foundation, He must remain the centre. Whether it is a relationship, marriage, business, ministry, family, career, or project—you must continually carry Him along. Otherwise, you may begin with Him but leave Him on the other side.
In our anchor scriptures, the disciples were in the boat while Jesus remained behind to disperse the crowd and went up the mountain to pray. As they sailed, a storm arose in the middle of the sea. The winds were contrary, and the waves were overwhelming. But the moment Jesus arrived, the storm ceased.
This reflects the reality of many believers. We begin with Jesus in our marriage, business, ministry, or relationship. But when things begin to go well, we gradually shift from dependence to self-reliance. We leave Him “on the other side.” Then when storms arise, we find ourselves overwhelmed.
There was another moment when Jesus was physically in the boat, yet asleep. The storm shook the boat violently until the disciples woke Him up. The moment they called on Him, He rebuked the wind and said, “Peace, be still,” and calmness was restored.
Perhaps Jesus seems asleep in your situation—not because He is absent, but because you have not called upon Him. You may have relied on your strength, wisdom, or connections instead of waking Him up through prayer and faith.
The Word assures us: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you… when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned” (Isaiah 43:2). The promise is not the absence of storms; it is His presence in the storm.
So the question today is simple and personal: Is Jesus in your boat? If He is, do not fear. Storms may arise, but they will not overpower you. Hold onto your faith—He will speak peace.
If He is not, and you have chosen to rely solely on your strength, the storm may overwhelm you. The solution is not retreat, but invitation. Invite Him again. Make Him the centre once more.
Where Jesus is present, storms bow.
*Prayer*
Lord Jesus, forgive me for the times I have relied on my own strength and left You aside. Today I invite You afresh into every area of my life—my marriage, business, ministry, family, and future. Be the centre and foundation of all I do. When storms arise, help me to trust You and call upon Your name. Speak peace into every turbulent situation in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
