1. Morning devotion for today.

i. MORNING TEA
THE WORD FOR TODAY. SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 2026.
"FOCUS ON YOUR OPPORTUNITIES, NOT YOUR RIGHTS"
‘…Whatever is right…think about [it]…’ Philippians 4:8 NIV

PEOPLE AND circumstances don’t determine your attitude, you do! To win in life you must learn to focus on your opportunities, not your rights. Paul wrote from a prison cell, ‘Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things.’ Clearly, circumstances could lock Paul in, but they couldn’t keep him down. One of the biggest causes of discontent is our constant struggle to ‘secure our rights’. Have you been wronged? Do you feel like you haven’t received a fair shake? That’s because you live in an imperfect world. And as long as you do, you won’t see a time when everything you do is justly rewarded. So you’re faced with a decision: Are you going to spend your time and energy on what should have been, or get over it and focus on what can be? Even when truth and justice are on your side, you may never be able to right all your wrongs. But ultimately God will, so leave it in His hands. Continually ‘fighting for your rights’ just makes you angry and resentful, because these destructive emotions sap your energy and make you negative. And besides, when you focus on your rights you’re usually looking backward. You can’t make progress when you’re facing the wrong way! Only when you focus in the right direction will you move in the right direction. Now this doesn’t mean you won’t experience pain; it just means you choose to forgive, and zero in on what you can control: your attitudes and your opportunities.

ii. DO YOU NEED A MIRACLE FROM GOD?

"The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor." - Luke 4:18-19

What a great news! The gospel is summarized in John 3:16 in one verse: 'For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.'

This means that humanity does not have to perish. It means people's broken hearts can be healed. It means we can be freed from the jail of our own thoughts of fear, inferiority complex, etc.

The good news

The good news, which is being preached today, offers a change in life. The gospel's purpose is not only to increase knowledge of the Bible; it does something good in people. It gives man the eternal life. It can heal people both mentally and physically. The gospel brings humans back into the Master Plan of God, the place of life and abundance.

We were all lost because of sin, but through Jesus Christ it was possible again to be in that glorious life of peace, joy and victory. This is the good news! You can either accept or reject this gospel.

Paul says: 'For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes' (Romans 1:16).

2. Morning Prayer for today.

i.Morning Prayer

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. ⏤ Matthew 5:16

The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good. ⏤ John Bunyan

Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, You have graciously opened the way for us as sinners to come into Your presence. We come to You this morning, grateful for Your favor and mercy. We thank You for all the gifts of Your love, but especially for Your indescribable gift, Jesus Christ. On this Sunday, may Your love be revealed to us in a way that fills our hearts completely. Show us the cross, and may we see Your heart full of love for a lost world.

May Your Word have new meaning for us today as we read or hear it. Open our minds to understand it, and may Your Spirit guide us into the truth. May this day be one where our faith is strengthened and our love deepened.

May today also bring many blessings to our souls. Bless us by showing us our faults, our hidden sins, and the things in us that are not beautiful or holy. We want to recognize them and change. Search us, O God, and know our hearts; test us and know our thoughts. If there is any wicked way in us, lead us in the everlasting way. We want to rid ourselves of our sins and faults; we don’t want to keep them. Have mercy on us, and may this Sunday be a day for finding and removing anything evil from our hearts.

We ask You to show us how we can serve others today. Fill us with Your love so that wherever we go, we can bring healing to those who are hurting or wounded. Help us to comfort those in sorrow and encourage those who are downhearted. Lord, give us a good Sunday, full of Your love and grace, and rich with holy inspiration. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
