Good evening, brethren.

1. Evening devotion for today.

i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

*DATE:*
MONDAY 16TH FEBRUARY, 2026.

*SUB-THEME:*
THE NATURE OF GOD'S GRACE.

*TOPIC:*
RESTRAINS EVIL.

*TEXT:*
2 THESSALONIANS 2:3-7.
3 Let no one deceive you in any way, for it will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness—the son of destruction—is revealed. Mat 24:23 1Ti 4:1 1Jn 2:18 [Eph 5:6] [Col 2:18]
4 He will oppose and exalt himself above every so-called god or object of worship. So he will seat himself in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God. Dan 11:36
5 Do you not remember that I told you these things while I was still with you?
6 And you know what is now restraining him, so that he may be revealed at the proper time.
7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work, but the one who now restrains it will continue until he is taken out of the way. [1Jn 4:3] [Rev 17:5]

*TOPIC:*
RESTRAINS EVIL.

*THE MESSAGE:*
Jesus promised His followers that He would return to take them to be with Him (Jn. 14:1-3). In today's passage, Paul addresses the confusion among the Thessalonian believers caused by false teachings about the Day of the Lord, which stirs fear and uncertainty. He further clarifies that the end will come when the "man of lawlessness" is revealed. However, evil is currently being restrained by God's Spirit and power at work through His Church. The restraint is part of God's grace, delaying judgement to allow more people to come to repentance (2 Pet. 3:15). In a world filled with deception and moral decay, the believer must know that the presence of God holds back evil. Do not drift away from that anchor. Stand firm in the truth of God's word and cling to the hope of Christ's return.

*REFLECTION:*
Are you standing firm in the truth?

*PRAYER:*
Holy Spirit, help me to partner with You in restraining evil. Amen.

*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
ISAIAH 26:10.
"Though grace is shown to the wicked, they do not learn righteousness; even in a land of uprightness, they go on doing evil and regard not the majesty of the Lord."

*TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
NUMBERS 20-21.

ii. DO YOU BELIEVE THIS?

"Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." - Matthew 17:20

Do you know the story of a nation of 3 million people wandering in the desert and being bitten by venomous snakes? Their leader Moses made a bronze snake and attached this to a high pole. He said that everyone who was bitten should look at the bronze snake and they would live. Everyone who looked, immediately got healthy. Do you believe that?

The same people once stood before a sea. Moses stretched out his stick over the water and the water was split, so the people could walk on dry ground. Do you believe this?

Once upon a time there was a poor widow who only had a handful of flour and a little bit of oil in her house. The prophet said to her: 'Make me first a loaf of bread. Then the flour and the oil will not run out.' Indeed, every day the widow was able to bake again, because the oil and the flour did not run out. Do you believe that?

That old prophet walked to a river with his servant. He took off his cloak and hit the water with it. The water split and they walk on the riverbed. Do you believe that?

The Bible is full of wonderful miracles of preservation, victories and healing from all types of diseases.

Receive a miracle from God

How did all these people receive their miracle from God? What is needed for that? Faith and an act of faith are essential to be able to receive from God.

The power was not in the flour and oil from the widow, but in her faith. It was the same with Moses. He did not have a magical stick. The power was Moses' faith in God.

God wants to do miracles today. However, we can only receive the miracle through faith. God has not changed. 'Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever' (Hebrews 13:8). God used to do miracles and He is still able to perform a miracle for you today!

2. Evening, prayer for today.

i. Evening Prayer

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth [shall be thy] shield and buckler. ⏤ Psalm 91:4

God does not want us to worry about the future. He wants us to trust Him today. ⏤ Corrie ten Boom

Father, we are like little children in this vast world and cannot take care of ourselves. But we are so grateful that we are Your children and that You are our Father. We trust in Your eternal care. We know that You will never let us fall out of Your love and protection. As night falls again, we come close to You. We hide ourselves in the secret place of Your love and protection.

We ask You to forgive all the sins we’ve committed against You today. Renew our hearts more deeply, so that we may keep Your commandments and live in harmony with Your will in both our thoughts and actions.

Tonight, Father, we also remember Your other children around us. Some of them are happy; may they not forget You in their joy. Bless all pure happiness and let it lead to a closer relationship with You. Some of Your children are facing challenges. Some are struggling to find their daily bread. Some have sickness in their homes. Others have loved ones who are not living as they should, who do not love You or walk in Your ways, and their hearts are heavy with concern. Some have lost dear ones and are grieving deeply. For all these neighbors, we pray tonight. Bless them all. Give them the grace they need. Send relief and comfort in the way You know is best. And give us the grace to do our part in helping them in Your name, through Jesus Christ. Amen.
