Good morning, brethren.
1. Morning devotion for today.
i. MORNING TEA
THE WORD FOR TODAY. THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2026.
"THE PARABLE OF THE PRODIGAL SON (3)"
ââŠHe was lost and is found.â Luke 15:32 NIV
THE PRODIGAL Son didnât really know who his father was or how his father felt about him until he left home. Looking back, he thought, âI left the best thing I ever hadâ. After ending up in a hog pen he âcame to himselfâ (v. 17). Looking around, he thought, âThis is not how I was meant to liveâ. At that point his life took a dramatic turn. Upon his return, his father threw a big party. When the Prodigal Son got a revelation of who his father was, he discovered who he was; then he could really celebrate. Until you discover who God is, and who you are, thereâs nothing to celebrate. Youâll just keep trying to buy love, get people to like you, try to win their friendships, try to make connections, try to be with the right people at the right place at the right time in order to get to the right destination, etc. But once you know Who your Father is, and who you are, you get to go back home and take your rightful place at the table. No more loneliness. No more guilt. No more lacking. Listen to the Fatherâs words: âWe had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is foundâ (v. 32 NIV). When he left home the Prodigal Son was saying, ââŠGive me my share of the estateâŠâ (v. 12 NIV). But he discovered that you can have all the âstuffâ in the world, yet it means nothing without the assurance of your Fatherâs love. Get the idea?

ii. A LITTLE WHITE LIE
"You will not certainly die' the serpent said to the woman. 'For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." - Genesis 3:4-5
This was a ruthless lie from the evil one to Eve, because God had said: 'when you eat from it you will certainly die.' That lie was meant to get Eve to do what God had forbidden.
This was about twisting God's Word. It was the first lie in human history, and it opened the gate to all lies we have to deal with today.
A little white lie
Some people use words like 'maybe' or 'likely' to express something which is not true at all. Recently I have read the following: a probability verging on certainty. For example, someone might have committed a certain act. However, it is said in such a way that it will come across and be accepted as truth while what happened might be entirely different. There are people, also people in high positions in Church and State, who are praised by many but who say things which are not true; the little white lies. Their vision of the truth is so corrupted that they themselves no longer notice the lies.
This is also the same for some children of God. It has become a habit, while one of the Ten Commandments says: 'You must not tell lies.' We mislead others by twisting words and this is exactly what the evil one did with Eve.
What is the point concerning the above statements? It is good to think about this today. We cannot live like this. God is only happy with the truth. We cannot compromise and act as the world. We should always speak the truth and repent when it is necessary. Pray today: 'God, forgive me and help me live honestly for You.'

2. Morning Prayer for today.
Morning Prayer
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct [my prayer] unto thee, and will look up. †Psalm 5:3
The greatest tragedy of life is not unanswered prayer, but unoffered prayer. †F.B. Meyer
O God, we come to You with nothing but our needs and a meager return of gratitude from our flawed hearts. But we are glad to know that You welcome us even with our needs and sins. Reveal Your love to us so clearly that it kindles our love for You, teaching us to love You more.
This morning calls us to praise and thanksgiving. Weâve slept and awakened, preserved and refreshed by Your care. Our lives have been renewed through sleep, and now the sun shines on us again, bringing us joy. Give us a Fatherâs morning blessing as we step into the duties of this new day. Purify our hearts so that our thoughts and feelings may be pure. Grant us diligence, honesty, truthfulness, and a spirit of service so that we may carry out our tasks in a way that honors Your name.
May we learn more and more how to walk with Jesus in the ordinary days, the week-days, so that they too may be brightened by Your grace. Preserve us from foolishness, idle words, and anything that would profane our lives or damage the impression we leave on others. May our daily walk be a living gospel. May we be a blessing to everyone we meet. Keep us from discouraging others. Help us to live in such a way that everyone who knows us will find it easier to be true, holy, and happy.
Grant us now a Fatherâs morning blessing. Then we will be stronger throughout the day, safe amid temptation, and able to live sweetly and for You, through Jesus Christ. Amen.
