Good evening, brethren.
1. Evening devotion for today.
i. DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)
*DATE:*
THURSDAY 19TH FEBRUARY, 2026.
*SUB-THEME:*
THE NATURE OF GOD'S GRACE.
*TOPIC:*
GIVES HOPE.
*TEXT:*
COLOSSIANS 1:27-29.
27 to whom God wanted to make known the glorious riches of this secret among the gentiles—which is the Messiah in you, our glorious hope. 2Co 2:14 1Ti 1:1
28 It is He whom we proclaim as we admonish and wisely teach everyone, so that we may present everyone mature in the Messiah.
29 I work hard and struggle to do this, using the energy that He powerfully provides in me. [Eph 2:9]
*TOPIC:*
GIVES HOPE.
*THE MESSAGE:*
Paul speaks about the mystery that has been revealed to the saints: "Christ in you, the hope of glory". This mystery refers to the inclusion of Gentiles into God's redemptive plan, pointing out that salvation through Christ is available to all, not only the Jewish people. The hope of glory speaks to the future promise of eternal life and the fulfilment of God's kingdom. This hope motivates believers to persevere through trials and challenges, knowing that our struggles are not in vain.
Are you losing hope in your relationship with Christ Jesus?
Do not allow any pressure of life to separate you from the love of God and the glory that awaits all the saints. Keep hope alive and be optimistic, for the coming of Christ is imminent.
*REFLECTION:*
Be hopeful.
*PRAYER:*
Father, thank You for the assurance of eternal glory. Amen.
*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
ISAIAH 26:10.
"Though grace is shown to the wicked, they do not learn righteousness; even in a land of uprightness, they go on doing evil and regard not the majesty of the Lord."
*TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
NUMBERS 31-33.
ii. A LITTLE WHITE LIE
"You will not certainly die' the serpent said to the woman. 'For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." - Genesis 3:4-5
This was a ruthless lie from the evil one to Eve, because God had said: 'when you eat from it you will certainly die.' That lie was meant to get Eve to do what God had forbidden.
This was about twisting God's Word. It was the first lie in human history, and it opened the gate to all lies we have to deal with today.
A little white lie
Some people use words like 'maybe' or 'likely' to express something which is not true at all. Recently I have read the following: a probability verging on certainty. For example, someone might have committed a certain act. However, it is said in such a way that it will come across and be accepted as truth while what happened might be entirely different. There are people, also people in high positions in Church and State, who are praised by many but who say things which are not true; the little white lies. Their vision of the truth is so corrupted that they themselves no longer notice the lies.
This is also the same for some children of God. It has become a habit, while one of the Ten Commandments says: 'You must not tell lies.' We mislead others by twisting words and this is exactly what the evil one did with Eve.
What is the point concerning the above statements? It is good to think about this today. We cannot live like this. God is only happy with the truth. We cannot compromise and act as the world. We should always speak the truth and repent when it is necessary. Pray today: 'God, forgive me and help me live honestly for You.'

2. Evening Prayer for today.
i. Evening Prayer
Come unto me, all [ye] that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. ⏤ Matthew 11:28
Prayer does not fit us for the greater work; prayer is the greater work. ⏤ Oswald Chambers
O God, You have taught us in Your holy word to cast our burdens upon You, promising that You will sustain us. We come to You this evening with our burdens. You’ve given them to us as gifts, so we know there must be a blessing hidden within each one. Help us to accept our burdens and receive the gifts they carry. Let us not complain or grumble under them, lest we miss the blessings You’ve prepared for us.
You haven’t promised to take our burdens away, for that would rob us of the blessings You’ve lovingly prepared. But You have promised to sustain us and give us the strength to bear them. So our prayer is that You would give us the grace to accept whatever burdens You’ve placed upon us, to carry whatever crosses You’ve given us, and to bear them after our Savior, trusting in quiet faith.
At the close of this day, we bring You our sincere gratitude and praise for Your goodness.
Your love never tires,
Your patience never runs out,
Your grace never fails.
We grieve You with our many sins, our unbelief, and our complaining. Have mercy on us and forgive us for Jesus’ sake.
Grant us an evening blessing from Your hand. Give us Your peace, strengthen us with Your might, and prepare us for any duty or struggle that lies ahead. Crush Satan under our feet. Jesus, You have overcome the world, and in Your victory, You are our defense and refuge. So we hide in You, as in the shadow of a great rock in a weary land. Bless us for Your name’s sake. Amen.
