Good morning, brethren.

1. Morning devotion for today.

MORNING TEA
THE WORD FOR TODAY. MONDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2026.
"DEALING WITH ADVERSITY (1)"
‘…Is your life full of difficulties and temptations? Then be happy.’ James 1:2 TLB

LORI SCHNEIDER is one of very few women to climb Mt. Everest - yet another step on a climb she started ten years earlier when she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS). Terrified, but determined to achieve her goal, she quit her job and devoted herself to climbing. Nine years later she’d conquered the highest peaks on six of the earth’s continents! ‘Lori sees MS not as a negative, but a positive,’ her father said. ‘She accepted it as a challenge’. Unfurling a banner in honour of the first World MS Day, she called her dad on a satellite phone: ‘I’m here on the summit! I made it!’. A dream sixteen years in the making realised! Now her goal is to show others who face challenges that even the highest mountain can be climbed one step at a time. In ‘Staying the Course’, BJ Gallagher writes: ‘Our journey… is about progress, not perfection. It’s not about doing one thing 100 per cent better - it’s doing 100 things 1 per cent better each day. Progress is evolutionary, not revolutionary …most days we measure in inches, not miles. What matters most is showing up for your life whether you feel like it or not. Ask yourself, “What two or three little things can I do today that would move me forward?” You’ll be amazed how much distance you can cover taking it in increments. Little things add up; inches turn to miles. We string together our efforts like so many pearls, and before long…you have a whole strand!’.

ii. CRUCIFIED BY FELLOW CHRISTIANS

"The Lamb who was slain." - Revelation 13:8

'David, I am one of those Christians who has been treated horribly by my fellow brothers and sisters. I have a hard time dealing with this and I find it even harder to fully recover from this. I am looking for help.'

This is one of the many letters I regularly receive from people who write to me. One of the most shocking experiences for a Christian is to discover that fellow Christians can sometimes be very mean. The damage, caused by the actions of fellow believers, can create deep wounds from which a Christian might never recover. Yet today the message for you is that full recovery is possible!

Full recovery

Dear brother and sister, where do you go for healing? What is your first step to get healed? Who is behind this? If you realize this, you will find your healing. Who came up with Jesus' crucifixion? Who chose the people who treated Jesus so cruelly? It is your Father in heaven! You might say: 'No, that is not possible, I cannot believe that. God is not like that, God is love!'

Yet it is the Father who planned the crucifixion of His own Son before the creation of the world. There are many people who cannot understand that Isaiah 53:10 says 'yet it was the Lord's will to crush Him and cause Him to suffer.' Accepting this truth is the first step to our full recovery.

The secret of full recovery is to surrender to God. Sometimes He allows things to happen in your life which start a process of change. Our own selves are still too strong, and we do not listen to God. The crucifixion, the nails and the false witnesses had only one purpose and that was the death. Unless the grain dies, it cannot bear fruit.

It is also important to forgive the person who did something wrong to you. If you do that, you will receive full recovery.

2. Morning Prayer for today.

i. Morning Prayer

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service. ⏤ Romans 12:1

He who runs from God in the morning will scarcely find Him the rest of the day. ⏤ John Bunyan

Almighty God, the Father of us all, in whom we live and move and have our being—we worship You and give thanks to Your great and holy name. Our hearts are full of memories of Sunday. May we be like those who have walked among fragrant flowers, carrying the scent on our very garments. May we be more joyful, more trusting, more holy, more loving, and more prayerful because of the holy influences that saturated our lives yesterday.

You are the God of the evening and the morning. Every day reveals where You have walked in love. We thank You for this day that now shines upon us. We need Your presence with us through all its hours, for we don’t know what they hold for us:
what duties,
what problems that must be solved,
what decisions that must be made,
what responsibilities that must be met,
what surprises of joy or sorrow,
what temptations,
what conflicts,
what dangers.

We don’t know—but You do, and we’re not afraid to leave it all in Your hands. Bless us with peace, wisdom, and strength for whatever lies ahead. Take our hands and guide us.

We consecrate ourselves to You this day, O God, for life and service. We are Yours, and we present ourselves as a living sacrifice to You. We want to live only for You. Help us to renounce all claims on ourselves and truly be Yours. If we are called to any hard duty, task, or service—give us the grace to accept Your will cheerfully and to do what pleases You. Work deeply in us by Your Spirit, continuing the renewal of our nature, and building us up in holiness and righteousness, through Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.
