*🕊 DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 54*
*DATE: 23RD FEBRUARY 2026*
*TOPIC: THE NECESSITY OF TRAINING – 5*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:LUKE 9:1–2 (NKJV)*
*“Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.”*
*Devotional Message*

Yesterday, we saw the importance of being equipped with knowledge so that we may rightly divide the Word of truth. Jesus, our perfect example, at the age of twelve was found sitting among the teachers of the Law, listening to them and asking questions. This shows us that spiritual growth requires learning, humility, and depth in Scripture so that we do not build doctrines that are not centered on Christ.

However, Jesus did not only teach His disciples what to preach. If the Gospel only addressed the regeneration of the spirit without touching the soul and body, the mission would be incomplete. Therefore, Scripture tells us that He gave them power and authority to cast out demons, heal the sick, and raise the dead.

The Apostle Paul also emphasized that the Gospel did not come with eloquence of speech alone but with demonstration of power. That is why even handkerchiefs and aprons from his body healed the sick. This dimension flows from the anointing of the Holy Spirit. As it is written, God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. The disciples were instructed to tarry in Jerusalem until they were endued with power from on high.

In the same way, we must not only desire knowledge of the Word but also yearn for the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. The Word gives direction; power gives impact. Knowledge establishes doctrine; power establishes dominion.

The assignment God has given us—whether in ministry, family, business, marketplace, career, marriage, or finances—requires both sound doctrine and spiritual authority. Power and authority are necessary to counter the works of the enemy and to bring territories under the government of God.

The Word alone informs, but the Word accompanied by power transforms. When these two dimensions operate together, our lives become effective witnesses of the God we serve.

*Prayer*

Father, thank You for the gift of Your Word and the power of Your Spirit. Equip me with sound knowledge so that I may rightly divide the truth. Endue me with power and authority to confront the works of darkness and bring glory to Your name. Let my life reflect both the wisdom of Your Word and the demonstration of Your power. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
